I actually just unsubscribe games I don't want from my Steam library. Permanently removed. I hate hoarding and hoarders.

It's why I almost never buy bundles.

That’s a bit bizarre, at least from my perspective. I don’t particularly like physical clutter, but I certainly don’t mind collecting games on Steam. I have games I’ve ever installed despite being there for years, and I’ve added a game I installed years ago I’ve never actually played (small game though, else it’d get uninstalled) I my Steam library.

Yeah I can just categorize and/or hide the games I don't want to play at the moment. There is no reason to delete them from my library. I never know when I'll want to go back and play an old game again.

What I usually do is set it to only display games I have installed. If I want to install a game I disable it and use the search function. Sometimes I even just use Recent so the games I'm playing a lot show up near the top.

I view it as a process and categorize it as such. New incoming titles go into the standard steam category, which is usually small. After that I see if it's a game I want to play within reasonable time or not, and either move it to a general games category or to "other". From the games category I pick planned games, typically games to be played within 6 months. Then I have a current category with games I have active sessions in. These are the only ones I currently got installed on at least one computer. Then when I finish them I move them to "finished" or "classics" (if I intend to replay them, very few are here but Master of Orion 2 is one). Simultaneously with the current games category I got a multiplayer category which is more or less permanent across various computers. That way I got a flow of games, that progress through the categories.

The Humble Monthly Bundle for February 2018 has Dark Souls 3 and the Ashes of Ariandel DLC as the frontline game.

Subscribe for $12 for the Dark Souls 3 game and a selection of games that they don't tell you about beforehand. Supposedly, they're slightly themed around the flagship game.

It's a really cheap way to get DS3 and the first DLC, at least. Heck, just that one DLC alone on Steam is $15.

You also get access to a bunch of DLC-free "Humble Original" titles in their library for as long as you're subscribed.

Edit 1: (Can I put my referral code in this post? This is my first time subscribing, so I'm not trying to sound like an infomercial.)

Edit 2: After looking around the site actively for a list of rules or guidelines and couldn't find any, so here it is. No rulebreaking intended.

If I understand it right, I'll get a bit of store credit if anyone gets the Monthly Bundle through this link.
I think you also get a 10% discount in the humble store, but that might be a general Monthly Bundle perk. Not sure.

Th4DwArfY1 - Thanks for clarifying. I made this post while DS3 was still downloading, so the whole things was really new to me. There are a few really neat games in there, too.

n9103 - Thanks for the tip. I tried playing KoF 13 Steam Edition today. I had a really hard time of it, since the d-pad on my afterglow xbox controller really sucks. My thumb was feeling sore and bruised from pushing it across the keypad. It's so imprecise. I don't want to need a $120 fightstick to be able to play well.

Unfortunate problem with KOF 2002 - The controls on the control page actually seem to be lying. Instead of "QWZX", the controls are actually ZXCA.

The controls cannot be rebound.

The game itself seems good enough, but the port.... doesn't.

noticed those about this kof 2002 "port" (that is just an emulated rom instead of an actual port)
Quote
This game runs on a hacked up version of Nebula that uses the standard rom files you can find on the internet.
Quote
DotEmu licensed the Nebula emulator from ElSemi (the author) and modified it to add the menus and such, but in the process, messed up the simple stuff like pad configurations. I downloaded the GOG version of the game and it works... okay, but man, their Steam versions other NeoGeo games (not the KOFs, I mean everything else) are pretty crappy.
looks like even decade old FBA still does a much better job than this modified Nebula (and have no emulation speed or lack of keybinding problem).

Sounds like a good way to legally get the rom, then just ditch their crappy emulator and download a better one lol.

Any recommendations for what emulator?

In other news, Origin has (finally) changed the game it has on the house - Rather than Plants VS Zombies, the game they have for free is Dead Space.

Granted, you have to use Origin, but a free game is a free game, and this game was made when Dead Space wasn't a game quite yet...

Well, it's not Dead Space 3.

It was a game that led up to Dead Space 3.

Shit, I'm making it sound bad, aren't I?

Well, anyway, just go to Origin and get it if you're interested.

Oh, and I noticed the game's blurb said something about hacking and slashing....

I've seen gameplay, and I can tell you it's more of a shooting and stomping affair. Dismemberment is a game mechanic (why that didn't wind up alarming the people who get alarmed about violent video games is beyond me).

the nice open source FBA (Final Burn Alpha) has always served me well with this kind of game, rock solid , configurable etc... and as i just tried it (though i'm using a version from a couple of years ago) additionally works very well with the rom ( kof2002.zip ) that is installed by the gog freebie.
Can't say more to keep with the board rules.
