Bioshock Infinite is only $7.50 right now. Great deal.

Yeah. Didn't the gimmicks do horrible things to their servers? Which is why they finally decided to axe them?

The steam features list is horrible.  Showing the same games multiple times as you scroll down the endless rabbit hole.

Same deal when you go into list mode.  Same games showing up on multiple pages.

It honestly kinda' looks like something's just borked up on that front. Browsing through the specials had the lists freaking out pretty much constantly. You'd refresh a page twice and see the same game in three different places (assuming it doesn't end up off the page entirely).

No. It was because of the refunds. Since people would buy a game, see it on sale, refund and want to buy it again, it would put way too much stress on the servers and customer service, I think.

Horrible doesn't quite cover it; by compelling the deal-hounds to hit the store 3 times a day, they were effecting saying "we want to be DDOSed, we're huge masochists."

And it wasn't just the servers.  It caused more service calls, made negotiating details with each publisher needlessly complicated... maybe some other things.

The refunds were probably a factor, yeah... but the servers still creak and groan most of the first day, even after the changes.

I've been doing my serious list browsing on steamdb.info... They seem to be done scraping the recent changes; highly superior to Steam's zombified search functions.

Trails in the Sky makes me sad. I played it on my PSP ages ago and it was enjoyable. Controllers don't work on the PC version anymore, however - apparently because they removed the option that they used to tell you to enable.

I'm considering Stardew Valley. Is it still shiny and cool, or has its luster dimmed out too much for a mere 20% off?

Creeper World 3 is selling for $3. It's like an outpost builder/freeform tower defense against a Liquid of Doom. It even has a demo version.

Magicmaker - 50% - $5
Buy this one! Fill the screen with splitting, enemy-seeking explosions.

Can vouch for magicmaker (also, its sound track is kinda' bloody amazing; I actually bought the soundtrack on release, despite not getting the game itself until today.*) -- it has a demo, though, if you're considering it. Thea's pretty nice -- there's pretty decent LPs out there to get a better idea what it's like. Dungeons of the Endless I would also give a second vote, trails of the sky, too.

Endless Legends... is maybe kinda' iffy. A lot good about it (and the soundtrack is pretty good, too), but unless it's changed in recent-ish updates the enemy AI is kinda' brain dead.

And meph: Joy2key :P

* Even though I didn't need to -- the music's easily accessible in the game data. I just wanted to give the composer some money.

But I'm lazy...

And the configuration utility still has a controller section.
