I think magicmaker's going for a decent discount, iirc. Pretty fun game, wonderful music. I still haven't got it myself, but I did get the soundtrack :V

Yeah. You can get it here or here. If the release version is anything like the beta, you can probably also just pull the tracks out of the game folder. They were pretty easy to get to, just .oggs sitting in one of the directories. I really liked the music, though, so I nabbed up the soundtrack from bandcamp just to send paavo some dosh, heh.

They're not for everybody but I picked up Europa Universalis IV and a boatload of DLC as well as another boatload of DLC for Crusader Kings 2.

I'm bad at both but I still play for some reason.

SEGA is offering a series of games FOR FREE as part of their Make Love, not War 3 event.

The steam bundle proper.

Thanks a lot for mentioning this. I've heard things about axes of gold before, might as well give it a try. Having trouble figuring out what's in the "Sega classics bundle" part of it, though. It just brings me back to the main store page...

I'm looking at it now, and as far as I can tell it's basically a game that exists to they can release DLC for it that actually contains games. So, it's more like a platform of sorts. It exists in that bundle so you can play Golden Axe, since Golden Axe is "dlc" for it.

But anyways, Jet Grind Radio for free? Awesome.

Yeah, seems like it. It's whatever emulator software (equivalent) they're using, I guess.

And yeah, echo JSR. Never actually got around to playing it, so it stumbling in legitimately for free is a nice thing. Golden Axe is... well, it was pretty good for its time. You'll definitely feel the age, though. No clue what the rabbit thing's about.

There are multiple "Sega Classics Packs" that contain about what you'd expect and all run off the same emulator thingy; I'd assume "SEGA Classics" is all of them together, because it's more polite than assuming someone really ought to be shot for trying to charge for the free framework required for and packaged with actual games.

Presumably a good test would be claiming Golden Axe for free and then checking to see if Sega Classics now displays as In Library. If so, it's probably just the player; if not, it's probably all of the Packs or the first one or something. Fortunately I already own everything so that doesn't tell me nothin'.

"SEGA Genesis & Mega Drive Classics" is in my steam library. It says that I have on piece of DLC: "Golden Axe". WWhen I open the game I'm brought to a main menu of sorts where presumably you select what game you want to play, but the only option I have is for Golden Axe. Attempting to 'find more DLC in store' brings me to the storefront, as does attempting to view the store page. There is one piece of news which brings you to this newspage. The news page seems to be the only way to get to the store page for the games AFAIK, by clicking 'collection 1' or 'collection 2' or one of the games featured in collection 3.

I'd like to echo this sentiment. I was always somewhat interested in Hell Yeah! and getting a chance to replay JSR (I played JSRF on the original Xbox, but it's been years since then) is pretty cool too.

Already owned Phantasy Star 2-4 (and thus had SEGA Genesis & Mega Drive Classics, which I did not need to pay extra for originally).  Claiming Golden Axe added it to the DLC list for SEGA Genesis & Mega Drive Classics and did not add any extra "SEGA Classics" entry to my games list.  I therefore suspect it was just the player as well.

Of course, now I also have the rest of this pack sitting in my library, which is kinda awkward since it's highly probable I will never play them.  As it is, I suppose.

It added the player and Golden Axe to my collection, as well as Jet Set Radio.

I have fond memories of JSR on the Dreamcast, but probably wont install it again until I get a controller.. maybe one of the steam ones.

Golden Axe... relived the nostalgia for that when MAME was a big thing over 15 years ago.  I'd probably fire up the old arcade emulators again before installing this stuff on Steam for PC... Just something about a the unported experience seems more 'True' though for all I know the PC port just has a stripped down version of MAME running under it.

Time for another pack of games. This time you've got to give them your email and sign up for a newsletter. I haven't gotten my key yet. They say it will take up to 24 hours.

I guess that's to stop 10minutemail and stuff. I signed up with a spam-ridden junk email, there's a confirmation link in what they send you and you get spammed with more ad spam topped with spam.

So be warned, I suppose.
