How does one use the .ogg format? I have some music I would love to be able to listen to whenever I want.
Obtain winamp (or decent media player that isn't windows media player), successfully play ogg. Also mp3 and wav and sometimes flac.
Yeah, I'm using something called MPC. Originally picked it up for my Japanese animes, apparently can play most any media file.

If i remember correctly you can literally rename the ogg file extension to mp3 and it will play on everything that supports mp3.

False.  Ogg is technically a container format, a bit like a zipfile.  An Ogg file can contain audio, video, subtitles, and whatever else you choose to cram in.  Files ending in .ogg are traditionally Ogg containers holding a single stream of audio encoded in the Vorbis codec.

Ogg files can technically contain MP3 encoded audio, but I've never encountered one.  Vorbis audio is the working standard.

This trick only works if the player is smart enough to recognize an Ogg file by analyzing its header for the magic number 0x5367674F (ASCII code for OggS) instead of treating it as a very weird MP3 file.

Hmm i vaguely remember that you could make some music format run as an MP3 by simply renaming it because it was basically MP3 under a different name for Windows Phones or something.

Might have not been ogg then...

I think the issue with mp3s is that various related encoding technologies are wrapped up in the patent wars, so if you need a truly public domain format you use .ogg.

Humble PC/android bundle 13

$1:

Crimsonland
Neverending nightmares
Beatbuddy
Fotonica

Beat the average ($2.90 at the moment):

Tiny keep
Crowntakers
Monster loves you
(more coming soon)

Nothing seems very exciting this time. I have beatbuddy from some other bundle but I've never played it, I've never even heard of any of the other ones.

I'd actually recommend crimsonland -- it's pretty bloody nice for what it is. Definitely worth a buck, imo. Is a quite well executed... arena shooter? I think that's what they're called. That's been around for quite a while (first release was in '03 :P), and is still one of the better examples of the genre, if you ask me.

I thought the only empire with specific events just for them was the Roman one.

+1 to crimsonland. Survival shooter, really good time-waster for what it is.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

Just a small note:

Star-Box RPG Adventures is a shitty game. Do not buy it. It lagged excessively, the combat is akin to an SNES action game, and it's just fucking horrible.

Way of Gold and Steel is a shitty game. Do not buy it. A really great concept (A mix of a roguelike and RTS), however the execution is absolutely shit. The game is dull, tedious, and just... bad.

Bought these two back to back and hating life as a result. You've be warned.
