Gothic universe edition for $3.99 (US)

I know nothing about this series, is it worth getting?

Gothic 1 was great, though the combat took some learning and it might be a bit dated now.

2 and 3 were less great but not exactly bad.  Go in with low expectations, and you will probably enjoy them more.  I never tried the expansions to 2 and 3.

I've not played ArcaniA, but I hear it was awful.

Wow, 90% off Talisman and 70% off the Season Pass DLC.

If you have fond memories of the board game, this is WORTH GETTING.

wow that talisman deal is very good. Season pass 70% off and the game is a buck fifty? Easily worth the money

Unepic is in the monster deals for 50%, which is what it's been for this entire week anyway.
I see Unepic at 80% off...

Both 1 and 2 are great RPGs with atrocious controls (although in 2 they are significantly improved). IMO 2 + Night of the Raven is the best in the series.
3 came out around the same time as TES: Oblivion and tried to have its own large open world which didn't really work, but is still pretty good.

Elsewhere on the net, GOG has gone to finale mode for their summer sale...  a little under two days left for the last shot at all the things.

Humble has Napoleon: Total War super cheap for the 200th anniversary of (The Battle of) Waterloo...  2 bucks/pounds/euros, expires in about 3 days.

Any general opinions of Napoleon: Total War, independent of the price?

As a fan of the more melee centered Total Wars... It's a neat take on the 18th/19th century mostly-ranged warfare. Fun and interesting to play, if not my favourite TW game. A lot less clutter than what Empire had as well (which can be good or a bad thing). Looks pretty and fitting the era units look glorious in their uniforms as they fall by the dozen to muskets and cannon balls.

Independent of the price? Worth a try for any TW fan.

Was planning on picking up EUIV, so 75% off is nice. Recommendations on DLC? I'll probably end up with everything, same as CKII, but only pulling the trigger now on the collection and ones at 75% off. Is El Dorado a significant enough pack to justify buying at 50% off or would I be fine holding off till winter?

Space Colony Steam edition is 25% off. Not a great deal but kinda want for my low end tablet.

Wow, 90% off Talisman and 70% off the Season Pass DLC.

Not that great if you're not drinking and sitting within throwing range of your opponents.

You're fine holding off, unless you have a burning desire to play the Aztec, Mayan or Incan nations or Custom nations. It also makes exploration more automated, but that isn't a big deal for most nations so I wouldn't worry about that.

I play online with friends and, while we're not in throwing range, we drink and cuss up a storm at each other.

This is how I would recommend playing.

And god help you if you get the Thief character. You won't have any friends left after that game.

I stole three talismans that game and sold two, dropped the third one inside the tile you need a talisman to enter, then went on to win the game.

I wasn't gonna buy anything, but Fallout 3 wossname edition at <$7 is a steal. I think it's the crap one but it's the only one in the series I'm missing and also I really want to try that Two Wastelands mods for New Vegas.
