Thoughts on Starbound for 33% off/£8?

Are you trying to start a riot?

You'll probably like it if you liked Terraria.

Don't bother for a deal less than 50% off. The 10% base sale is a joke, and if I were only buying it now, 33% isn't near enough of a discount. It's simply not got enough content to warrant the price yet, and CF have been really slow to get back on the track of "Oh wait we're supposed to be making games instead of trolling our playerbase," and there's pretty constant signs that their individual devs just make whatever floats into their minds any given week instead of following a cohesive design plan.

Saw Borderlands was on sale, was slightly dissapointed with the discount listed.  Went to Borderlands 2: GOTY's sale page, and it was an extra 23% off compared to what was listed on the franchise page.

Oh yes, was just about to post this.

Chivalry is up for $2.49, aka finally a decent price for those of us who already have M&B: Warband. The recent Tomb Raider reboot is $3.99 and I've heard good stuff about it.

If you play it for the story you're gonna be disappointed, but I went through the entire thing and can vouch for its quality as an action game.

Thoughts on Starbound for 33% off/£8?

Right now? No.

Maybe in another two years? Maybe. But right now? No, not at any price.

(Maybe if you have a couple friends around and you're all bored of Terraria, but even that's pushing it.)

As it stands right now Terraria is much better for multiplayer. It's easy to party up, easy to find each other, you can PvP, there's good bosses to fight and areas to explore, you can download custom maps, &c.... Yes, even if you're bored to tears of it.

Seconding this notion. I've played Terraria all the way through with friends 3 times now (about once for each large update). I have 231 hours of playtime logged. There's another update coming very soon. I'm planning on playing through it again when said update arrives.

Ah yes, the insatiable lust of corn and rice, clearly two of the most erotic foods.

I'm eyeing Dark Souls 2. Any reason I should pick Dark Souls 2 over Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin? From what I can tell, SotFS is simply the superior option if you have a 64-bit system.

Check it out. Seems to me that it would be the superior option regardless of system architecture.

SotFS seems to be more aimed at people who have already gone through DaS 2 once or twice as it drastically changes the enemy line up and placement to make the game more difficult. I've heard a fair number of people bash on it saying that it went overboard with dropping to many strong enemies on you right from the get go. Personally, I've been enjoying it quite a bit but I'm not sure if its the best choice for someone new to the series and/or DaS 2
