....  Opinions on Escape Goat 2?  Is a puzzle platformer really worth the extra $4?

I gave Escape Goat 2 a spin once upon a time, and after a certain point it became face-smashingly hard...  I'm talking beyond Super Meat Boy hard.  Unless ultra-masochistic platforming is exactly your fetish, I would say No.

FTL the rogue-lite is currently $2.50 on Steam. Stop thinking about it and buy the game. So much fun.

New Abstract Bundle on Bundle Stars looks pretty good. 10 eye candy / strange games (and also Knights of Pen & Paper for some reason) for 2.53 euro (not sure about other regions).

Spoiler: Game List (click to show/hide)

Knights of Pen and Paper is worth many times that if you enjoy that type of game.

$2.49 USD on my end.

Knights of Pen and Paper is boring and pay-to-win-faster.

What the hell... That's only 2.09 euro! I never realized they ripped off Europeans like that. That's even worse than Steam's 1 Dollar "=" 1 Euro!

But it's still a good deal, and I only have two of those games, so I'll probably buy it anyway... Most of the games look excellent, and almost all of them have trading cards ripe for selling.

Last I heard it has microtransactions.  Pretty skeezy for a single player, non-free game.

Not now. There's a "store" that you use money gained in-game to buy different boosts. Definitely not pay-to-win, even in in-game currency. I thought it was a kind of unique mechanic - use in-game gold to buy equipment for your party or use in-game gold to get a tiny percentage boost to something.

A tiny boost is still pay to win in my book.  Or I suppose since its single player it would be "pay-to-not-play", which makes me think its probably not fun if you can pay to finish the game faster.   :P

Pay-to-win when you never pay? It was purchased with in-game currency gained by slaying monsters.

Woah, woah. Wait. What? Vangers!? Really? That game's awesome. *checks*

Holy hell, it actually is Vangers. Shit. I think I'm about to throw two fiddy at these people. To hell with the rest of the bundle, it's hard to pirate that damned game, and it's pretty bloody great. Fairly confusing, but great.

When did that hit steam and how did I not notice?

I was under the impression there was an actual for-real-money store in that game?  Unless they took it out, I vaguely remember there being some controversy when it came out.

Sorry, I edited one of my prior posts to include this. Removed from that post and reproduced here:

It didn't even strike me as mobile micortransactions shoehorned into a non-cash shop when I was playing. It felt natural. You're playing a group playing an RPG. The cash you get "in-game" can be used to buy new furniture for the game room, table accessories, snacks, and drinks.

Sorry for any rage felt by anyone talking to me. Let's talk about some more great sales and/or bundles.
