I have a coupon code for 23% off any title and it stacks with existing offers on GreenManGaming. I won't be using it so if anyone wants it, send me a PM.

There's Dirt, Chivalry and Torchlight midweek over at GamersGate. T2 is again tempting me, dammit...

Also, thanks all who answered my SimCity question. In the end I didn't pick it because I couldn't decide and then I forgot about it. Heh. Then again, I'm sure one day there will be a better deal than 60% off. Also, I'll agree there's something absolutely charming about SM2000's graphics and aesthetics in general. Can't help but feel that limited 256 color scale just makes everything more colorful.  ???

Really wish someone would make a remake of Sim Earth. Maybe under a different name and slightly different interface, to prevent eventual lawsuits or something.
Could be a fangame for all I care, like FreeCiv or something.

edit: I should probably relocate this to another, more suitable thread.

Move along, nothing to see here.

Banished is on sale (50%) on Steam for midweek madness.  I've had my eye on it for a while, but no idea whether it's worth a purchase at that price or wait and see (as I suspect it'll be 50% again in the inevitable Christmas sale).  Reviews seem to be mixed.  :-\

Banished needs immense amounts of work. It's rather expensive for a demo. (It's a hair more than a demo but not much more.)

I've tried Banished. It's basically a more gray and brown version of Settlers 5 or 6, with a few sprinkles of "The Guild", except not really.

Also everyone dies because houses end up owned by infertile old couples while the young, fertile people are living on the street, who become infertile by the time the old people have died and vacated. Unless you evict them every couple years.

It could be so much more, but the dev doesn't want to continue work on it, which I think is a bit silly, but w/e. It feels lacking as it is currently, and it's been out for a year and hasn't progressed noticeably.

Also every suggestion of "more luxury items/decorations" is replied by "but but... you are outcasts and poor and miserable!", even though any successful town will end up like some giant industrial megalopolis with lots of markets and ports and people eating 10 different types of fruit and meat and wearing designer fur clothes.

Shadow Warrior is worth it but I got it cheaper awhile back on GOG.

If not under Neotemplar look for Vellum.

Bionic Dues is 80% off on steam. One of the weeklong deals. It's a fun little roguelite. Turn-based combat with a small squad of mechs with plenty of loot.

Like most anything from Arcen (of AI War fame), it's not perfect. But I've had plenty of joyful hours with the game.

Yeah Bionic Dues was fun. I enjoyed it, would recommend to fans of turn-based tactical games.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

Never did play it after they fixed the deployable turrets being wayyyyy OP :D

It is a lot of fun. Arcen's tendency to go with weird numbers and statistics rather than streamlined mechanics tend to make their games a bit... all over the place, for me. But they're usually still pretty fun!
