I don't think I would consider Mass Effect or Dragon Age: Origins to have "female protagonist" as one of their biggest selling points. Custom protagonist, sure, but it's mostly cosmetic. If anything, female protagonists are given less decisions in DA:O than male.

Can't speak for Dragon Age, but all of my female friends love Mass Effect because of Femshep and good of a female protagonist she makes. So I think it counts.

FemShep and MaleShep had about the same amount of content between them. Mass Effect did really well with the relationships, Dragon Age however was pretty garbage with gift spam.

Its a very story game. The fighting is pretty similar to Factions.

Heh, but there is a lot of story! It's just near identical to the other Bioware stories...

Honestly it didn't bother me much because I've only played one "Bioware RPG" but people do have a point about the plots being cranked out on an assembly line.
