I'm going to be "that guy" but if you know of a scam or scamming website (or websites with scamming links) please do not link it. I'm sure there are many community members and lurkers who do not have a full grasp of the english language and might click on those links.

Valve/Steam will never do community polls (implying they give two shits about their community) outside of their official servers.

I'm not sure if you're referring to the escapist link, which is a link to another forum discussing the scam (although that forum post does include the scam link itself) or the links in this thread that were already removed.

My case is kind of borderline. I didn't actually create a link in my post, the SMF forum software did so itself out of the url automatically. I guess I could break the link anyway, if the argument is that a person could simply follow the links without necessarily being able to distinguish between something that is fine (the link to escapist's forums) versus one that is suspect (the scam link in the escapist forum post).

So, SALES.

There be a Hitman midweek on GamersGate. Anything from Codename 47 to Absolution ie. the whole franchise for less than 10€ a game.

Somewhat perverse that the first game is pricier than the third. Even more so when you consider that the third was probably the height of the series. But still, that's some good games for not so much money.

So how's it go:

Blood Money, Absolution, Codename 47, Silent Assassin
Right?

I mean the only one I've played properly is Blood Money, but I've had a go at Absolution and I'm pretty sure it's not as good. Ranking the other two is just from what I've heard from other people.

Order as released is:
Codename 47, Silent Assassin, Contracts, Blood Money, Absolution.

Codename 47 had flaws, it's ok. But I'd say you mostly play it for its culturo-historical relevance (which is not much). No mid-mission saves and too much linearity are its downfalls.

Silent Assassin is a huge upgrade in all respects, but its suspicion mechanics were a bit out of whack. Enemies would become suspicious of you despite disguises if you did the wrong things. In worst cases the wrong thing was casually walking next to one. In some missions it made sense (you're a big white bald guy, it's ok for it to stand out in some locales), but other times it was just way too overzealous with revealing you. Still it was miles above Codename 47. Good game.

Contracts improves upon Silent Assassin. Which is not much, but is all that's really required. Mainly the not so broken suspicion system and... That's about it. The same old Hitman formula, slightly more distilled to perfection than its predecessor.

I still haven't got up to Blood Money or Absolution, but from what I've read BM is "more of the same" in a good way. It does spice things up a bit with connecting the missions more, allowing you to actually spend your earned money on things. Could well be up there with Contracts, someone else would have to pitch in here.

Absolution, well, from what I've read and seen it's a bit more different from it's predecessor. I guess a Rainbow Six pre- and post- Vegas comparison would be apt here. It's not necessarily bad but for a series purist it's going to be profanity unmatched. Linearity, lack of stealth, etc. the usual things that reboots "get wrong". But again, someone with actual play experience through the whole series might be better to comment here.

1. Codename 47
2. Silent Assassin
3. Contracts (most of this is a remake of Codename 47, as such it could be swapped for second place in theory but also leads into blood money)
4. Blood Money
5. Absolution

It's multiplayer-only CoD with doublejump and drivable tanks shaped like people. Personally I would only consider it at $5, but I'm not a fan of the MMS sub-genre.

Holy shit an Origin sale here? The world has gone mad :P

Also good reminder to you all, I don't want to hear one word complaining about the Origin platform. Its there and not going away and so far works.
EA has their rights to release on whatever platform they want and all I care about is the games, ok?

Back to Titanfall, I was in the beta and while i did enjoy the game I didn't pick it up cause it still feels like CoD (already have Battlefield) but the battles were alot more entertaining. 30 is make it or break it, I would personally grab it at 20. You will definitely get some hours out of it.

Awesomenauts is on sale for $2.50 for another 12 hours. GO PICK IT UP.
It's a 2d MOBA, with an 80s theme and the best playerbase I've seen in a MOBA yet. I've only been yelled at twice in 60+ games. I've played 4? games of LOL. I got yelled at three times.

If you like playing modern military shooters, the gameplay is pretty great. The crazy parkour shooting into giant robot stompy action is very, very well done. There's nothing even remotely close to it.

Unforunately, there's nothing much to do in it. There's barely anything to unlock, there's only three robots and they're all very similar to one another. The guns are all meh-standard guns (1 SMG, 1 Assault Riffle, 1 LMG, etc.) except for the smart pistol which is hilarious. There's no singleplayer to speak of, the multiplayer campaign is utter shite and you're forced to play through it three times to unlock the mechs.

I kinda regret buying it on day 1, but the experience I got playing it was truly something else. Like I said, there's nothing else like it.

I meant in order of which one was best. So which you would buy first (unless you really value the story).

That's if you assume Absolution fits into the chronology, because it doesn't have pretty much anything in common with the plot of the others and throws established characterization out of the window.

I think Blood Money was is the best of that franchise.
If only Absolution was a bit more like it.
