If you liked Gauntlet, Hammerwatch will probably please your sensibilities. I enjoy it quite a bit, m'self. Solid controls, decent (if someone repetitive) music, sufficiently challenging, overall just fairly fun. Probably especially multiplayer, but single player is fine, too (if notably more difficult).

Hammerwatch is fun, I've been playing through it with a buddy of mine.  Lack of add/drop players is annoying though.  If someone wants to join you you have to start the whole campaign over again.  You CAN resume a multiplayer campaign, but only with the same people you were playing it with before.

The DLC, however, shows as Total: £-63.44 on the store page. I wonder...

...unfortunately, it still charges you actual money if you try to buy them all. Sad Was looking forwards to being paid £60 for getting additional DLCs, would be a nice marketing strategy... if unsustainable.

I liked Rome 2 a lot better than Shogun 2. Rome 2 had a buggy, botched release, but it's pretty playable now.

Then again, Empire is also my favorite Total War, so I'm not exactly you're average TW fan
