I played 8 around the time it came out. I remember enjoying it.

So. Wizardry 6, 7, and 8. Less than four bucks for the pack. Worth it? I hear its a difficult series, but it looks fun enough.

I've only tried six so far.  The brutal difficulty amuses me but the interface is ancient and difficult. I'm hoping 8 is a mix of the best elements.

If not under Neotemplar look for Vellum.

Counter Strike Global Offensive is on sale at 75% off as a Daily Deal. $3.74 USD instead of $15.

Anyone familiar with it? I know CS:Source is supposed to be one of the best FPS games on PC evar. Is Global Offensive superior? Is everyone still playing Source? Thoughts? Opinions?

It's different. I think a lot of people stick to CS:S, but then again many people stick to CS 1.6. From what I've seen as a part of free weekend, it feels more arcadey.
For me theres alot more response time that i got with GO than with Source, its alot easier for me to aim now, i dunno why just works alot better :P

If you do end up enjoying them, I would recommend looking into the Might and Magic series. They're a similar 1st person RPG, though they tend to be more bizarre in themes (well, 3 to 5.5 are)

Huh. Odd. Yesterday's Daily Deals (well, also today's for the next seven hours), for some reason dropped in price even further. Like, CS:GO was 50% off, now it's 75% off.

Steam does that sometimes. Just because something is on sale now doesn't mean thats the lowest it will go.

I don't think they (usually) do it on purpose, it's just pricing mistakes.

It works in your favor sometimes too - Dishonored was 97% off or something when the sales first flipped (the page was too overloaded for me to buy a copy before they fixed it though, boo).

I kind of want Saints Row IV, but that's an impossible dream. But if I ever reach that dream in the future, is the game worth it?

I've found it to be a fun game, although if you want to hear all the dialogue from your companions you have to avoid doing any of the activities/hotspots/etc in the city until directed to them by their "side missions". The actual story and loyalty missions are generally good though. It's not an overly long game and can reasonably be 100%ed in 30 or so hours. There is a fair bit of referencing to the earlier games in the series and some jokes will not make sense unless you have played/watched the previous games.

Classic dungeon crawler RPGs. That 4 bucks will probably yield you a couple hundred hours of gameplay if you play all three. But yes they can be very challenging, and obviously they are a bit archaic in terms of interface and usability. Of course if you are here posting on the Dwarf Fortress forum then you probably don't have much of an issue with arcane interfaces  ;)

Just have some graph paper or other mapping method at the ready if you play wiz 6, because IIRC it does not have automapping.

lol what makes you say this?

Anyone think Risk of Rain might go on sale for more than 20%? I really want to get it, but my philosophy with Steam is that if you don't get it for at least 50% off, you're cheating yourself. :P

It's brand new, so probably not. I'm surprised it's on sale at all.
