Skullgirls is on sale until Monday!

It's also apparently free to play until Sunday. It's a good game, the animation is really nicely done, plus the developers are working on adding three new characters (with possibly more after). Online game is, from what I've seen/read, rather standard fighter fair. You'll usually go up against someone whose much better then you performing insane combos.
It is easier to play though, compared to Street Fighter 4 there is a lot more leeway when it comes to performing combos, plus the tutorials do a much better job of explaining things.

Yeah, Skullgirls is pretty great. IMO anyone who liked Guilty Gear would love it too.

With Big Band and Beowulf coming (I have access to the endless beta), it's turning into Skullharem, then Skullpeople...

Not Steam, but rather the 3DS Online store has Code of Princess on sale for $19, from it's standard price of $30.

Does anyone know anything about it? It looks cool, and it's by Atlus, and they have a good track record in my book, but I'm not sure.

What I find aggravating is when it installs frameworks despite the fact that you already have them. :P

Could it at least get a little bar telling how far its installing at. Like is it installing something large or is it actually stalled!!!

Serious answer? The way I understand it: there are a lot of different versions of each framework. If you've spent millions designing, testing, and debugging your game around version 10.0.1.15, there's no way you're going to risk a one-in-a-million crash bug being introduced with version 10.0.1.16. Better to spend a couple of minutes (re-)installing the version your QA team swears by.

At the very least, when you show up complaining about a crash nobody else has encountered, they've eliminated one of about a dozen different potential failures besides the game itself.  :)

If your application doesn't produce a bug report that also reports the version of external programs your app depends on, you deserve all the heartache that comes with such problems.

That's not how it works... the release version of VC Runtime has auto-forward rules for each major version. If your application doesn't target a specific minor version, you will be using the latest minor version the client has installed.

Debug version doesn't have auto-forward, so you must have the exact version. If you do need to debug at a client's machine, you package all your dependent DLLs along to avoid headaches.

Technically on Green Man Gaming but Sid Meier's Civilization V: Gold Edition, Sid Meier's Civilization V: Gods and Kings, and Sid Meier's Civilization V: Brave New World are for sale for $12.99, $7.49 and $10.19 respectively. The Sid Meier's Civilization V base game is also on sale for $7.49 as well.

I might pick up Sid Meier's Civilization V Gold Edition if it's still on sale when I get paid this week. Is the $12.99 deal an alright deal?

I'm curious about this one as well.  Civ V got some poor reviews at start, but I've heard both expansions improved on it.  How does it stand now in comparison to release and Civ IV, my favorite of the bunch?

I'm not a die-hard fan of the Civ series, though I did play Civ 1 and Civ 2 quite a lot. I actually rather enjoyed Civ 5 because you couldn't stack units. That meant that you could strategically place your towns so that they were harder to attack (by being next to mountains, water, etc). You really had to think about every move and where each unit was best placed. I thought it was a pretty good addition to the series. I don't think I own the expansion packs, but I'm not sure.
