Server costs, but servers are cheap. Digital versions should not be $60+.

Regardless...
Would it be cheaper for me to get someone else to grab me a copy???

Provided no region restrictions (there shouldn't be any, but adding this caveat just in case), someone else could gift you a cheaper copy and the game should work fine.

POINT COMPLETELY MISSED...
Sigh...
I will say it simply...

How much does it cost an American with an American Client and everything. For me, on my Australian client shows 80USD...

The greek DLC is another 8 dollars.

Instead of being irate at nice people on the forums; maybe do a little research, it certainly would have been faster than waiting for a forum reply anyway.

So apparently Wizardry 6, 7, and 8 are on Steam now. As someone who has never played a game in that series, it looks kinda like those old-school first-person dungeon crawlers. Are they any good? Which one is best?

1: I asked a simple question at the start, ended up getting ignored for an explanation on shit we as a forum/community already know.
2: I have never seen these sites before.
3: Thankyou...

Also... Am I reading that right? The Brits get it cheaper all round???

I own a hard copy of 8 but don't remember it much. GOG has those already so they are DRM free. There's no multiplayer so you might as well play without an internet connection.

It's actually slightly more expensive to buy 6 and 7 on GOG, so if you're going to buy those you save $1 by buying on Steam.

$1... If you're worried about a dollar you have bigger problems in life.

I think it's less worrying about $1 and more "Why would I pay a dollar extra if I didn't need to?"

lol 'looks kinda like', these games are the quintessential dungeon crawlers

if you insist on paying for them i would wait for a discount and pick up all 3

I would pay an extra dollar to be able to play a single-player game without being online AND be able to reinstall 10 years down the road without being online.

Nevyn if you're curious about international prices just get online and find a site that compares them. I personally like steamprices since it's pretty much the best one around.

On subject of steam vs gog for old games; one thing you have to consider is that often gog will add fan patches or their own fixes so they work better on modern machines. Sometimes some Steam games are just not compatible with fan patches or mods since they sometimes change the file format slightly. Best to do a little bit of research when buying older games and decide if that extra dollar off is truly worth it.

unless they added some drm for the steam release (rather unlikely), you can probably do both of these with the steam version too...
