Guys... really. I don't live in a first world country. I've been using personal computers since 1982. They had to be smuggled into the country.

"Original Windows" came in 5 1/4" floppies. You're confusing 8" and 5 1/4" diskettes because they're identical looking, but smaller.
8" disks were used in large washing-machine sized computers. And this. YES, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT YOU USED A $4000 COMPUTER FROM 1979. NO, COMMANDER KEEN DIDN'T RUN ON IT.

5 1/4" floppies could hold about 180k, 360k if double sided. In personal gaming computers like the Commodore 64, you had to flip them over to use the other side. High density came later and hold about 1.2 mb.
Then 3 1/2" floppies came much later, the ones with the metal slidey thingy. They were 720kb for double density, and 1.44 mb for high density.

What you're calling a "normal floppy" sounds to me like a 3 1/2" floppy, which was actually considered uber, with their "1.5mb holy sheet".

The oldest IBM-PC used 5 1/4" floppies. Not 8".

Well, enough of this derail...

I will admit, I may be getting my floppy disk sizes mixed up... I was young, it was school, I blame television.

I've actually got a box full of games on 5.25 inch floppy disks, and Sergius is right. Also, I want to play Midnight Rescue now.

On topic, the game Krater is on sale for 80% off. Worth it?

Krater is a decent game but the first 2 hours of it are cumbersome. If you can get through that period, the game is worth at least $10. I hope that odd way of answering helped.

I have shittons of 5.25" C64 floppies in boxes, but I'd be surprised if any of them still work, considering that my 3.5" non-floppy-floppies from the 90s all degraded to the point of unusability in the past decade. Anywho...

Well since GoG is stocking modern games it makes sense for steam to go retro

Played Krater for 20 minute and never came back. IMO it completely missed the mark on character building. I don't even remember the specifics of it anymore. What I do remember is it left me going "Yeah. Why would I ever play this game again?"

I just want to say that I said we had a collection of them and a computer like that, not that they'd work on that computer.
The machine itself required much smaller things.

Currently on sale: StarForge (Alpha).

I'm conflicted. It looks SO DAMN FINE but it almost seems too good to be true.
