Torchlight 2 won the latest vote. I was hoping for Gunpoint, but I'll take what I can get.

I'm an antisocial jerk. Worth it if I never play online?

Yeah, for sure. It's an excellent game.

Picked up KSP, Spec Ops, and System Shock 2 today.

Spec Ops

Man, I loved Spec Ops. I'm a sucker for that type of story, and it just did it so damn well. If anyone's planning on getting Spec Ops for the FPS that it is, you'll probably be somewhat disappointed. If you got it for the story, well, I think you're getting it for the right reason but you should be ready for the nitty-gritty.

... It blows Diablo 3 out of the water and all of the clones as well, with the possible exception of Path of Exile...

Having played a lot of PoE since open beta started, and a bit of T2 on a friend's desktop, it's not a possible exception in my mind.  PoE has a few glaring issues...  Its systems are interconnected in a way that makes it very difficult to upgrade your gear without catassing (esp. re: skill sockets/links); lag spikes and desync/rubberbanding can insta-gib you; the difficulty curve is more like a hair-pin turn.

T2 has won this race by enough to not require a photo finish.

I spent 5 bucks on it... you should too, if you haven't already done so.

I bought T2 with the intent of playing it solo, but I might be willing to suffer latency woes for other b12 folk.

Cool. Thanks for all of the comments RE: Torchlight 2. I also picked up Spec Ops while I was at it.

Here is the thing about Path of Exile. It is a very hard game but it is a difficulty that for most of the game you can appreciate. No matter how hard it gets you understand that all your problems are your own and you struggle through. Sure not everything is perfect but you keep going on.

Then however on the 3rd or 4th act enemies start being able to do autohits that deal a lot of damage. You are dying like crazy and there is nothing you can do about it. You suddenly scramble to change your style and set up entirely around these autohits and the difficult is no longer skill but equipment and skill points.

Path of Exile self destructs its well constructed game.

Actually, I have two questions about TL2.

1) Are all the classes fully distinct this time, instead of the copy n paste half the skills among every class tree?

and

2) Is the enchantment system that completely destroys your gear still in?

I'll throw in my thanks for the TL2 info as well. My reaction on playing TL1 was pretty much "Damn, this is awesome, wish I'd played it sooner so I could have known I'd want the sequel," but I figured I might as well wait for some (more) confirmation.

Fallout 3 ran slightly faster for me than Oblivion did, so they may have tweaked the engine a little.  I haven't installed New Vegas yet but I'm pretty sure it's the same engine with a few more features.

Pretty much.

Though you should note that getting FO3 to run without crashing on Windows 7 (and probably 8 too, I haven't tried since I upgraded to 8 [and then immediately to 8.1]).  Even without mods it doesn't like 7.  I'd say be ready for a lot of work to get it working, but it's worth it, especially if you go the extra distance to throw in a nice set of mods.
Are you sure that windows 7 was the problem? I originally couldn't run Fallout 3 on my windows 7 laptop because the devs decided that laptops with integrated chips would never be able to run such a graphically intensive game, but there was some workaround which allowed me to play it no problem.

I didn't have any problems with Fallout 3. It crashed far far less than Oblivion, which even without mods, crashed all the time.

I remember I used to heavily mod Fallout 3 and it crashed a lot. But after I stuck with about a 50 mod limit...it never crashed once. Actually, it crashed more on XP for me (even when I didn't mod it) than it did for Windows 7. Granted, it could have been because my XP was 32bit and not 64bit. But, in any case, when I was into Fallout 3., I could play all day without any crashes, and without having to restart the game or anything like that.

I ran unmodded FO3 on my Windows 7 setup, I think I had to run it on compatibility or something or it'd act weird and not want to work. Very simple fix though. For FO: NV, I don't think I needed to do even that. I did mod it with that unofficial mega-fix patch which worked really nicely.

Well this sucks. For anyone considering buying bloodbowl, just know that it has quite a few game ruining bugs. Right now I'm trying to find out if there is a console command I can use to stop this vampire from rocking back and forth because of a failed roll on it's main feature. From what I read, it used to be removed, got added again, is known, and hasn't been fixed for a good amount of time. I'm gonna be forced to either forfeit or close down the whole game and redo the match I was winning... Maybe multiple times depending on if they roll a 1.

I heard good things about this and it seemed fun, but it seems like the devs don't give a damn about it and it's bugs.

Sims 3 is half off so it's only $250 for the whole thing right now, does anybody know if it's worth it?

Amazon has had MUCH better deals on the Sims 3 in the past. I would recommend you wait for one of those again.

Compared to how glitch the game is and how close The Sims 4 is... NO NO IT ISN'T!
