Most the people I've talked to have enjoyed Tomb Raider. I haven't gotten around to playing it quite yet, but I bought it. From what I've heard it's basically Uncharted (I think that's it) with a strong female lead and bits of Tomb Raidery goodness. Compared to the original series there's more action, more leveling and upgrading, a little less actual tomb raiding, and a lot less killing dinosaurs and endangered animals. Lara is also less of a sex figure and more of an actual character, which is a huge plus in my opinion. She also controls much better than the old ones, which makes the platforming, puzzle solving, and giant set piece segments much less frustrating.

The logic isn't too consistent throughout the game (Expect cut scenes where dudes appear out of nowhere and kidnap you and moments where you wonder why something is suddenly a huge problem when it wasn't a while ago), but it's mostly to shake up the game play and it's still fun - Just be prepared to accept that the writers are the gods in this universe.

It feels like the Batman Begins of the Tomb Raider series - It's essentially Lara Croft's origin story. Expect sequels.

I have heard many good things about Bully but haven't played it myself.

I do believe you missed the sale on it, though.
Hmm still on sale for me at least, just refreshed.

I was referring to the daily/flash sales, where games usually go about 75% off.

Knight, Thanks! I'm going to sleep on it and maybe buy it in the morning. I don't want to be seduced by opportunity, but I would be a fool to miss it at 75% off. Also, there might not be a sequel. Apparently, the sales numbers were disappointing. They were less than half of their projections.

Hurray! I now enough money to buy the entire DOW franchise at the cost it is now. The downside is that I have effectively sold my soul to the 20k Chaos gods.

Even if I have AoE2 offline, would it still be a good idea to get a Steam copy of the HD version (I feel like the price could go lower, personally)? Would anyone else be up to some multiplayer (and some of the community stuff, since it's active again), otherwise?

From what I've seen, AoE2 HD is basically AoE2 with a higher resolution and no LAN mode. No new graphics, no improvements to anything.

The Workshop integration and Steamworks multiplayer makes it worth it in my view. There's also no need to kill explorer on Windows 7 and the UI has been fixed to work on higher resolution screens.
If you want a graphical update there's quite a few on the workshop. Some of them are just glorious and there's even one that replaces every unit sprite with a much better, higher res, historical accurate sprite. When I get back home in 10 hours or so I'll post up links to the mod if anyone is interested.

Fair enough. Ended up buying it anyway.

Universe Sandbox won the community vote. People are voting the cheapest. How sad.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

System Shock will likely win, but that's because it's System Shock and not necessarily because it'll have the lowest price.

If universe sandbox is capable of simulating when two galaxies collide from gravitational pull and merge into one galaxy then that's a helluva astrophysics sandbox they got there.
