So apparently Shadowrun is coming to Steam. Pre-purchase for 10% off.
Sorry Sirus, but that's been sitting there since... The kickstarted finished or a couple of months after. Kinda Old news...

Currently XCOM is on sale for 12.99 including all of the DLC. You can get an additional 20% off with a voucher from the site (the 25% off voucher doesn't work however).

http://www.greenmangaming.com/hot-deals/

Not sure how long is left, they are 6 hour sales and this one has been going on for a bit.

Obligatory post where I speak up in support of a game that's really dang good.

If you played the original XCOMs:
There's a good chance you'll like this.  It really is pretty true to the source material, but expanded *and* streamlined.  Yes, you can only command 6 soldiers at a time - but (at least on the medium difficulty where I played, ironman) it's not game-ending to lose some.  Or all.  I found there was a balance between valuing my soldiers, and soldiering on despite their deaths.  Call me sentimental, but I tended to idle on the KIA screen (which gradually accumulates shot glasses and remembrances as you inevitably fuck up).  They captured the "losing is fun" aspect, and drastically reduced the tediousness.

It's far closer to the first two games than the UFO: Afterlight trilogy.  Which I also liked, but for different reasons, and frankly not as much.  (Mainly due to awkard interfaces, crashes, bad optimizing, and repetitive missions.  Still fun, but more fun in theory than in execution.  I still beat 1 and 3, then half of 2.)

Maybe I'm a sucker for good audio cues, but the "Time to fight" theme that plays whenever you go to the pre-mission equipment screen still gives me shivers.

Frankly, this game does for me what XCOM used to do, without the tedium and with pretty graphics.  Next time I'm really sick and want to blow a couple days, I'll go for the Afterlight series (or possibly Extraterrestrials, which is also grindy as heck).  If I want to save the Earth and feel badass doing it, I'll go for a third playthrough of the new XCOM.

If you haven't played TBS before:  Turn based strategy is not for everyone.  Consult your doctor before playing TBS.  Void where prohibited, prohibited where void.
Rest in peace, Sheldon Brown.

On the XCom:EU topic, go rename one of your soldiers after the main founders of Firaxis, Sid Meier...

PS: If playing for Achievements, do not do this...

If you are doing that go for the whole hero team.

Sid Meier (Support) (Psionic)
Otto Zander (Assault)
Joe Kelly (Heavy)
Ken Levine (Sniper)
Chris Kluwe (Sniper)

Gamersgate has an amazing IndieFort bundle with Sanctum, Awesomenauts and AirBuccanneers (thanks Hemmingjay for pointing that out).

GoG is also doing their Summer sale Finale, with tons of stuff on sale :)

If you don't have Killing Floor yet, get it. It isn't like it'll take very much dosh with a sale like that!

14 DLC..... 14!! No thanks. Sounds like it needed a proper expansion or something. Or shove that all into the base game on launch.

The vast majority of those are player skins, or fan-made weapons. There is a crap load to Killing Floor without buying a single DLC.

March of the Eagles is on for 4.99$ at greenmangaming (another 6hr deal).

http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/ca/en/pc/games/strategy/march-eagles/

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with it. Is it worth picking up? Or am I better off getting one of Paradox's more fleshed out grand strategy games?

Honestly a LOT of games have a lot of DLC but very little worthwhile DLC.

Heck I like Magicka, I really do... but wading through their DLC to get the ones I would actually want to buy is another story.
