I was a spore fanatic. In my free time, I looked up new information on spore. I can tell you, there was no indication that the old stuff was removed

Except outright announcements that they removed the water phase and that they might not even have flying creatures.

Actually in fact according to forum posts I am fishing through. They announced "No flying" early in 2008.

The only videos differing from the 2005 ones before launch, were those of the cell phase, which gave me no impression that anything was different other then the graphics, and 1 or 2 videos of the creature phase, which did not go into detail. If they showed multiple different creatures then people might have caught on, but that's probably why there was so little content before release.

Lets go with this... Here is a video two to three months before the release of Spore (It is nearly impossible to find the videos for spore now)

So yeah, if you were "Looking up info" back then and you still were surprised that "Spore wasn't like the 2005 video at all!" you hyped yourself... since you started racking a list of removed features back in 2006

Ugh, every year it gets harder and harder to find the info for this arguement. I cannot imagine the unfathomable insanity it would be to FIND the water stage announcement.

It's...decent-ish. I haven't played very much, but it seems like a weird cross between Settlers and Age of Empires. You build up a settlement by exploiting resources, and then command RTS armies with your demigod upgradable unit.

For $2.50, you can't go wrong. I think I paid more than that and thought it was worth it.

i'd say yes. it's a quite good game, from what i've seen of it. like the first Witcher, but more. yet, i'm not getting it. i don't know quite what to make of it. if you have to ask, you probably shouldn't get it, or at least wait until it goes on sale this summer to decide.

Speaking of AVWW, is it worth it? Judging by the videos, it looks like the animations are nearly nonexistent.

I don't know how good the second on is on the computer, but I enjoyed the first, and the second on the console was rather good.  It is definitely a bit more of a niche game then other RPGs thou

They're interesting. Art is never arcen's strongpoint though.
