you can also listen to the people in Sony's forum. Or just wait until it actually works well enough to try it for yourself.

Steam forums tend towards negativity in my experience, and many of the complaints seem to do with usual launch issues, though I am concerned about the P2W claims; since PvP is compulsory, experience boosters are more than just a convenience.

The game's been out in Japan for a while, apparently, so maybe a resident Japanese speaker would be willing to summarize some reviews for us?

I think that's overly generalising the population of Steam forumites. While I have seen many cryptic, random posts, there are players who post constructive and reasonable opinions too.

FYI Wizardry Online has both permadeath and open PVP. I don't think these two are good combination.

Ok, it has trouble connecting and waits in some sort of queues. While waiting, I checked out the races.

Dwarf - warriors
Elf - mage/priest
Human - normal
Gnome - priest/warrior
Porkul - thief

Racial limitations, bah. Won't stop me from making a porkul warrior. (porkuls are tiny elfs)

Anyone played it? I didn't finish the first one, but I saw some vids and this looked pretty cool.

EDIT: Also, Legend of Grimrock. I think it's some sort of Eye of the Beholder clone with 3d graphics. And you can build dungeons for others to play.

Read the Grimrock thread around here before you decide to buy. It's very... polarizing.
