Is Dungeon Siege 3 as mindless as the first one?

The reviews aren't flattering. Seems the only good one was DS2, IMHO.

Is The Last Remnant any good?

In my own opinion, it's great.
One of the best features is that you can have japanese voices on, if that's your thing.
(The voices sounds MUCH better in Japanese in my opinion.)

Story wise it might not make much sense at some points,
I think it's just the English translators screwing things up.
As of the invisible walls thing, it can be annoying, but hey, at least it's less linear than FF13.

Since it's from SquaresoftEnix,
it might feel like any other Final Fantasy game, minus the Final Fantasy part.
(such as no chocobos and lack of FF theme music.)
It has some RPG elements but relies on tactical combat.

Think of it as a Final Fantasy Tactics alternate universe thing.. (maybe not entirely correct..)

Also, this might be an interesting quotation I read somwehere:
Quote
Helming the game will be Ryutaro Ichimura, who produced several Dragon Quest games, including Dragon Quest IX, Dragon Quest Swords and kiddy arcade game Dragon Quest Battle Road.
So if you are big on the Dragon Quest franchise, you might find it interesting.

Geez.. now you made me want to download and play it again!

TLR is nice!

Battles are fun and huge, but you'll have to look through a guide to really get how you can force things like special abilities to trigger or develop a character and his skills in certain ways. (maybe its all in the manual, but i've never liked fuzzy speeches on things that could be put crystal clear).
The Encounters work like a cross between the new FFXII+ system and the old ones. You can see Monsters/groups of them while walking around. Many can be avoided. You can choose how many you want to engage by running around with an ability on and "tagging" them. Then you go into the seperate, region-specific battle screen. No random encounters.
Other than that.. well. its like FF in the sense that you'd better like cheesy stories and a dose of angst and main characters who are complete morons (living in a sort of monarchy, the first time he meets his ruler he goes YO BRO Y U NO SAVE MY SISTER! and is just generally annoying, disrespectful, unaware...) . Or at least be able to ignore that.

It's on sale every couple months, don't pay the full price for it. Its basicly ripoff with how often its on sale.

Ah yes.. the main character is kinda annoying at that..
Forgot to mention him myself..
There are plenty of main characters in the FF series which can be quite eannoying
(Looking at you Tidus and Vaan..),
and this is no exception.

Depending on the way the fantasy government is set up, this could be an entirely valid question. Some rulers are actually servants of their subjects and are responsible for their safety, especially noncombatants and innocent civilians.

One of the king's lackeys was certainly not amused.  :P

GCI is boring. At least that has been my experience with it. Its too linear and there about 10 weapons in the game.

I bought the original Deus Ex when it was on sale awhile ago, if only because I felt the need to experience what's called a classic atleast once. I already beat Invisible War, and I'm not interested in the newer one.

GCI: cartoony game with a slow burning progression system.

Trine 2: best looking game of 2011, charming puzzle platformer with emergent solutions and a bit of goblin fighting. even if you don't like puzzle platformers, this is a definite recommendation.

Maybe it's parasitic. It never loses its flavor because you eventually die from having your nutrients stolen by it.

Not to mention that the new game is WAAAAY better than Invisible War. Its kinda like the first game, better in some ways, not in others, but unfortunately short and kinda easy.

Difficulty options exist for a reason.
