I guess paying $20 instead of $40 for elevators or spiral staircases is good?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I'd personally call Sims 3 a ridiculous waste of money.

I mean, it's good and all, but having just the vanilla game just doesn't cut it anymore. It's ok for those who have been buying the packs when they came out, but buying a "pack" now of Sims 3 products... ugh. I'd buy the entire lot for $20 total, tops.

I'd pay $20 to get rid of the crashes and save corruption. I'd pay $30 for everything else. $50 for a complete game? Yeah. That's about right.

Bought Psychonauts for five dollars. It's something that critics have be praising for years, but I've never checked it out. I guess I'll be changing that soon enough.

It's pretty bitchin'

Football Mananger is on sale right now for about $12, and I can't recommend it enough.

It'll probably be at least 50% off during the summer sale.  :D

I've had my eye on that one for a long time now.  Especially seeing that they have contacts for amateur/etc stuff.  I know it's the wrong kind of football, but I ADORE the NCAA games...and I don't mean playing on the field.  I think my fiancee might object if I take notes on graph paper and try to figure out who I want for next year all day, though...again...

Yeah, this sounds like my cup of tea.  Might try the demo first, but I doubt I'd regret buying it...except for all the wasted time.

With your love of graphs and analytics you will not regret this purchase. The "game" moves at a glacial pace, but that is something many of us enjoy. I bought it at full price and love it. I play for a few days straight and then take a one month break, which seems to be the norm.

So, Freedom Force 1 + 2 on Sale. I have a hard-copy of Freedom Force but it has serious issues on newer versions of windows (ie: it won't work at all). Does anybody know if this has been fixed for the Steam version? Because if it has it's totally worth 4 bucks for the two of them.

Also, all the Sid Meiers stuff is on sale. Might buy Pirates!.

Oh my god, X-Com pack is 50% off too.

Thanks! Definitely getting it, then. I've been wanting to replay FF (and play FF2) for years now. I hope it's as good as I remember it being.

Pirates! can be fun. A metric crap-ton of things to do and plenty of ways to do them. Sadly, character customization is pretty much nil.

ETA: Entire Borderlands franchise is 75% off. I highly recommend this if you want a mix of Diablo-style looting and a solid shooter that doesn't take itself to seriously.

Can someone give a brief review of Freedom Force?

Tongue-in-cheek superhero RPG with solid gameplay and a lot of charm. Combat-centric missions with multiple objectives rather than open-world gameplay. Realtime battles, pause whenever you want to assign commands. Quite a bit of freedom in character advancement and party building using the story characters, but also includes the ability to create completely broken custom characters using an open-ended power building system. Destructible environments - throw cars, weild traffic lights, etc. It's not an incredibly deep RPG experience, but it's damn entertaining.

9.0 on Metacritic with a 9.2 user rating, so apparently I'm not the only one who likes it.

Well...hell, that's good enough for me. Assuming of course, that the video is tongue-in-cheek rather than the actual quality of the game.
