I wasn't going to get the first Stalker, but they shave a bit over a dollar off the price if you get both.

I also bought Ghostbusters. So that's two more games that I buy that I already "owned" (ahem, arr). Been purchased a bunch of those lately, if only because the price seemed right.

(Ghostbusters is actually very fun, but I couldn't keep playing once I got to the "level" where you basically can roam all around the firehouse, because my OCD kicked in and I had to reproduce the entire thing floortile by floortile in Sims 3, including the dirty clothes on the ground...)

L4D2 I had to get because I heard that the multiplayer is pretty fun.

That Complete mod is a keeper, though. Updates the whole render engine, fixes bugs, and adds functionality that should've been there in the first place.

Today only: 75% Depths of Peril

Reading about it and watching the trailer, looks like a sort-of Hinterland clone. I'd buy it but I really don't know enough about it :P
Anyone know more or heard anything about it? There seems to be a diplomacy element and you recruit people but I don't know if there's any town building in it.

EDIT: Apparently not. Bummer.

Yeah its not like anything else you probably played. Soldak games are definitely original in concept. They sound better to me than they actually play though. Somehow, they just don't deliver on the depth like the description sounds like it would. That said, the games are still good and fun and for the price, well worth it in my opinion, fun for an afternoon or two.

Depths of Peril is a good game if you can deal with the lack of polish. It's a great gameplay design marred by poor graphics for it's day and weird balance decisions. That being said, it is different each time you start a new game and has signif. more depth than Hinterland.

I never got these because i pretty much am not into multiplayer and the scores of jerks who populate these places. Is the single player game fun?

The teammate AI can be a little frustrating sometimes and there are some strange glitches that can occur, but they are solid games alone or with friends.
