There is literally no DRM that can't be cracked fairly easily.  I doubt there ever will be.

Yeah. This is true.

Huh, I was on the fence about whether to go for CitiesXL 2011 or not.
Until I noticed it not only has Securom, but also a 5-machine activation limit.
Woowww.

It sure is considerate of folks to keep making my decisions easy for me. :/

I will NEVER understand why games have additional DRM on top of Steam's.
Probably has something to do with the fact that Steam's DRM is piss-easy to crack.
Not that SecuROM makes it any harder.

Plus, SecuROM is intrusive, so it just provides more incentive to crack it.

Also, the more impenetrable you say it is, the more likely you'll have it broken quickly and loudly.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Best way to prevent piracy: Good, online gameplay. Or good gameplay overall.

Absolutely, so long as you're the sort who prefers haunting atmosphere over gameplay.  It's not really a game as such, more a glimpse into the psyches of several people.

I'm really not doing it justice here, but I bought it full price and consider it my best purchase on Steam.

I'm thinking I should probably just get it.  Given I like creepy cool stuff.

It's just I'm not all that entirely sure.

It's more psychological horror than shock horror.  If you like 'creepy cool stuff' I honestly don't think you can do better than The Path.

I think I may be turning fanboy for it...

Yup... One of the girls... In my point of view... Gets ghost-mind-raped.... The ghost being the wolf... She has that rape walk and the screen does look like it has been bukkaked, even tho it's just rain... That game is so wrong if you have been exposed to a shitton of internet memes.

Sanctum looks pretty neat, but I'm not really sold on it.

Bought Audiosurf. It was cheap, but I'm still not really sure I should've bothered.

When I played the demo, it pretty much felt like I was playing a game with my music playing in the background - Not a game where I play.. um.. "on" my music. [DDR, Guitar Hero, etc, make you feel like you're playing the music.] It's kind of an underwhelming experience.

I only played a few songs, but that's how I felt, anyway.
Sidney Samson - Riverside.

I haven't played much but I love the concept and it works fantastically with techno frenzy songs and the like.  I can't wait to try some Fatboy slim songs.

So, I only have $6.50 left in my steam wallet, and I have a semi-low-end computer (It's actually pretty good for a laptop, but the graphics card is somewhat pathetic). I was thinking I would pick up Splinter Cell Chaos Theory for $3.50. Does this sound like a good idea? Is it a good game? Can I even run that with a modern laptop?

So I bought it as it is less expensive than 2 candy bars.

It was less than $0.50?

I think I just dated myself.
