Retail prices here in Norway makes me   :'(
Shogun 2 at 22€ was half the cheapest store price here.
Wow. Still, I imagine the australian still have it worse. Not only all that, but the moral guardians try to make sure all games that are approved sucks.  :P

the sad part is that Amazon has it for $4 less. So much for the big steam sale.

Except I'm willing to pay that extra $4 for a version that I can't lose short of a wildly successful corporation suddenly going belly-up. Between children and cats I'd much rather have my games in a non-scratch-able format.

Make an iso and tuck the original disc away.

You know steam has an emergancy function wrote in by valve that if they did go bankrupt they just engage the script and the steam verification is no longer needed, it's their way of saying, hell if we fuck up, your games are still yours.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.  The obvious solution is to chain the baby up at the entrance as a kobold detector.

Get a 2nd hard drive, install everything there, put it in a closet and don't touch it until bankruptcy day. It amounts to the same thing as tucking a CD/DVD away.

Also, you do know that as Shogun 2 is a steamworks enable game, you'd have it on steam either way right? Just register the phisical copy you bought, and voila, the only difference is that you have feelies.

Fallout New Vegas, 15 bucks if you don't have it yet, DLC's are 2.50 each.

Is that true or just wishful thinking? Because if true, that's awesome.

Also Torchlight was, in fact, worth $3. It's still half off, and worth that price too.

Mount&Blade: With Fire and Sword.
Is it worth it? Many new, revolutionary features?

Because I've played Warband dead during the last few weeks and I'm not sure if it can keep me motivated.

From what I've heard it doesn't add much beyond what The Eagle and The Radiant Cross already does. Might be worth the pricetag it's got today though, if you have a few bucks to spare.
