Probably should check out the XCOM thread we have floating around here for more opinions on EW.

Echoing what people have already said, EW is a full on expansion pack (almost like a sequel) for EU. 1 new faction added, 2 new alien species to fight, skill balancing, more maps to play on, soldier language customisation.. so I'd say EW is worth it, although it really shouldn't be called "DLC".

I guess DLC still has that unfortunate ring of "horse armour" and the like. It's not DLC if it actually has content :P

FWIW I think EW was labelled as DLC because it's not a standalone game, and requires you to have EU in order to play EW.

It's available separately as a standalone expansion on the consoles. It has a whole separate file folder full of data to itself on the PC too, and most of EU's data can be deleted without affecting EW. So it's not an "addon", and not purely content - therefore it's not DLC. As far as I know the prerequisite of EU is specific to Steam.

Oh cool, Mirror's Edge is on the weekly sale on Steam at 75% off. I highly recommend it, although the opinions are mixed. Freerunning, wheee!

Kenshi is 40% off on Steam. That puts it at ~12 USD. The local Kenshi thread is up to twenty pages and is fairly active. Posting about a sale in a thread where everyone already owns the game is kind of redundant, so here we are.

It's slow to update, but has been faster recently, and is shaping up to be quite the game. Buy now before the price goes up again.

GOG sale on Psychonauts. 60% off.

X-COM is 50% off. Including on the base game+pre-order+minor DLC+Enemy Unknown, which, at 50% off, makes the price 15 Euro here.

Seeing as everyone and their dog seems to love the game, I grabbed it.

A heads up that if you already own XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Enemy Within is on Amazon for under $10, unlocks on Steam.

Though it's worth noting that it's one of those silly US only sales.

Silly Amazon.
