My default reaction is to stay away more then normal until I learn more about the game.
I would get Mirror's Edge but I don't have the money for it now.

To be entirely fair, it's not like EA had done a lot to gain a positive disposition of their playerbase. I like some of the things EA did before it became the EA it is now. Like the Strike series of helicopter shooters.

Regardless of EA being EA, Mirror's Edge is the real deal. It was an original IP, pretty original idea, that was thoroughly executed. I don't think EA had time to fuck it over from the beginning because they didn't know what they could ruin yet. Mirror's Edge 2? That'll probably, sadly, have some EA meddling, but Mirror's Edge is clean and you don't need Origin.
I would definitely recommend Mirror's Edge. I was very pleasantly surprised by just how good it was.
