Played the Torchlight 2 demo. Yeah, I like it way more than Diablo 3. Less focus on gear, more focus on skills. There's more potential for versatile builds as well, due to the way the system unlocks by reaching certain levels, rather than unlocking by putting points in lower tier skills like Diablo 2. The respec system is lacking, only letting you change the last 3 skill points you spent. Almost useless compared to other respec systems (Borderlands, Diablo3). It's cool though, just means you want to plan a build before hand.

I can see how it feels like aimless wandering in some parts. I didn't see much issues with that, as long as there's stuff to kill and loot. It wasn't near as bad as Diablo 2's jungle levels, imo.

Probably gonna pick it up for when I feel like clicking stuff and getting bigger numbers to kill things and loot bigger numbers.

Not exactly a sale since it's free but Ragnarok Online is one steam now and its calling out to me. I'm afraid I'll hate it since its been years since I played it.  :(

Same. Geez, I'm honestly surprised that game's still around. Still remember the awesomeness of Fire Wall versus those... bug things.  :)

Tried Ragnarok Online and I didn't hate it instantly like I did RO2. It's almost as I remembered it. There are 2 servers, the Chaos and Classic server. Chaos has 3rd jobs and broke the level 99 limit and 99 stat limits. Classic is for those old guys that hate all the changes. It only goes up to transend jobs and the 99 limit.

Once I figure out what I'll be and find an emperium, I'll start a bay12 guild.

Is the required grinding still bloody ridiculous?

There's Kill mobs for Exp kind of quests now and job exp seems higher. I'll tell you how bad it is once I hit level 60.

HoI3 and Vicky II are on sale at greenmangaming.  I picked up the entire Victoria collection for 8$ with a promo code (GMG20-X80Z3-CU97Y).

I am a bit on the fence for HoI3 though. How does it compare to Paradox's other grand strategy titles?

I could never really get my head around HoI, I'm not good with modern combined arms. The whole game is about warfare and tactics while everything else is kept to a minimum. The economy is managed with nothing but sliders, diplomacy is less refined and deep than the other titles.
HoI has an extremely big learning curve, on par or perhaps greater than Victoria 2. I find it has the worst GUI of any Paradox series and trying to learn even basic mechanics without a guide seems impossible.

If you can get over all the faults the game has it's perhaps the most indepth war game that exists. You do really have to enjoy tactics, micromanagement and warfare to enjoy it though.

Large amount of Indie Games hitting Steam atm. Some good, some well.... Yeah...
Anyway 2 I have great interest in...

Risk of Rain finally released, thankfully I kickstarted that so I go a copy to add now...

Long Live the Queen. THIS looks interesting. Princess Maker 2 styled game from the looks of things, I remember how fun it was to raise the character in a off hand RPG styled thing. Shame its always Young Girls that are the protagonist when it comes to these games as sometimes it either feels too "Girl Gamey" or just wrong for me to be playing it, But this looks a little more adult then most games, the character dies alot according to the Vid preview...

I saw this last page and i gotta say:

Sacred 2: Fallen angel is a terrible game. TERRIBLE.

It is however, the BEST terrible game you will ever buy, IF you have friends to play it with!

Long Live the Queen is out? HELL YES.

I bought it from their site. I think I can get a steam key but I think I messed up my email I used to buy it.

It has an achievement list of how you died even.

Just had a play of "Long Live the Queen"...
WOW...
THIS GAME IS DETAILED...

During the "Cutscenes" there is this little ? button, clicking that will bring up details about the character talking. Such as Age, Maritial Status, Farther, Mother and such. This has more importance then you would first think...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Throughout the game you decide the morning and afternoon classes you take, ranging from all manners of things, there are 4 kinds of classes, then those classes are split into a few extra which are then split once again into 3 more.
For example. The Social Tree has 3 Choices, Royal Demeanor/Conversation/Expression. From there those are split into 3 more, for example Expression has Decoration/Instrument/Voice.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

This opens up a large amount of things that can be leveled with 4 Trees, 14 Branches and then finally 3 Leafs on each branch. 42 Classes to take in total. From there you start with a base learning speed of 2 per weekday (6 in total or so) and then this total gets altered by that of Mood...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

There are 4 Moods, well 8 in truth. While there is a perfect state of mind, each of the 4 moods shift with actions, going up or down towards different things, Angry or Afraid. Cheerful or Depressed, Willful or Yielding and finally Pressured or Lonely. Depending on which of these 8 different moods are the most influential towards your character gives buffs and nerfs to the learning speed of the character. For example, at the start of the game she is Depressed cause Mum just died. Naturally any child would not want to talk to anyone, so the Social Tree has some Nerfs to them, more on the Conversation which can result in Zero Learning from the class...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

THEN...

Each week something happens, I don't know if its set in stone or it changes with a little RNG. But depending on how you have been leveling through the classes you can fail or succeed the tests that occur. You will never know which or when they happen if they are RNG, but for example. One Week my girl saw an Owl in the Day. I had been leveling Falcon Leaf within the Animal Handling Branch. So she knew that it was odd for an Owl to be flying in the day time, BUT, if I had leveled Divination, she would have taken more from that event... ((No images, no spoils :P))

This is only the tip of the iceberg, if anything the same amount of stuff you would learn via the quick tutorial. BUT, even then it doesn't show its full potential. What is the most alarming is that there is a Checklist, within it is the Achievements, Epilogues and scarily, DEATHS... THATS RIGHT, you can check off the ways the Character dies...

I had a look at that. Seemed kind of interesting but the trailer turned me off it by ham alone.
