Sadly, neither Tharja or Gaius can get Galeforce.

Fire Emblem Awakening is awesome. Anyone with a 3DS should get it. The amount of love and work that went into it is mind boggling. Also it comes with voice language select (first for a Nintendo game hahaha).

You forgot this Tellemurius.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Wow that is suggestive... and cannot really be defended in game either given that... well... The meat is still in its packaging. She really is trying to turn someone on.

Actually, this is relevant.
Methinks this is even more relevant. I pretty much thought of it immediately, in fact.

Anyway, I have basically no opinion on Agarest as a game, I just raeg a tiny bit when I see it on the steam store. :P

Not sure why you're raging at it - I'll admit I voted to greenlight it and pre-ordered it when it became available. It seems like it might be a lot of fun, and since I don't have a playstation, I can't play one of the console versions.

And honestly, I'm fine that it doesn't have nudity in it.  :P For those who want that sort of thing, there's a whole internet full of it without having to beat up epic boss monster #289.

And now, Sensei's Brain Theatre presents:
A Complete and Total Stranger's View of Agarest

Curtain opens on SENSEI, browsing the Steam store: "Doop de doo, wonder what games are on sale today..."
Steam automatically scrolls:

SENSEI'S face rumples: "Man wait what the fuck why is there porn on my computer... what's this, 'Agarest'? God dammit I hate this shit bunch of twelve year old girls in lingerie selling the game... what even are they wearing anyway do they fight in that? What the hell happened to armor that stops swords from cutting people? That's not even enough to protect them from a light rain, or from Bieber lookalike in the front there getting pulled away in an FBI van. ...Generations of war? My fuckin' ass more like generations of hot topic and cosmetic products, anybody who's been in generations of war should be covered in dirt like the peasants in Monty Python..."

Curtain closes, SENSEI continues speaking as audio fades: "Seriously why is there porn on my computer I didn't put this here... Grawr rawr damn kids get off my lawn... "

Pretty much exactly the same thing popped into my own head. JRPGs and all things anime tend to go right over my head. While I'm not a fan of the hyper immature space marine of the Western market I'm even less of a fan of the androgynous stoic eleven-year-old demon hunter with a harem of endless preteen girls with hair colours loosely associated to their personalities.

There are a few jRPGs I'm fond of. The Secret of Mana series come to mind but I often hear arguments that they're not "pure" jRPGs and have been heavily influenced by western mechanics and even targeted towards western audiences. Hell I don't even like Pokemon that much and only ever played gen 1 and borrowed Sapphire off a friend for a blast of nostalgia.
I can appreciate what jRPGs are meant to be, games based more around characters and their interaction instead of taking the role of a character and injecting your own control into the narrative like a cRPG. I just find a lot of the jRPG mechanic traditions archaic and tedious with some of the cultural tropes confusing, alien and yet strangely predictable.

In closing; I have nothing constructive to add to this discussion except perhaps to tell people to play Secret of Mana because that game is an epic.

Theres two people with nothing on and three poofy cloaks/jackets in that picture. If that was in fire emblem I'd ask why the party is only two dancers, two mages, and an unsure swordsman.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Ohh I wish that was the only criticism someone could make of anime.

I mean, I like anime, but even I recognize that a lot of the animes people talk about are just the cream on top of a pile of garbage a lot of the time.

I'd compare it to Romantic Comedies... but legitimately good Romcoms are rarer then that.

Yet ultimately Argarest doesn't seem to understand the point of generational gameplay in a story driven narrative. Though I am basing that off of surface appearance... For all I know it is tear jerkingly amazing.

If that cover art was a turn-on there might be more serious problems at hand. Like Chris Hansen knocking on your door.
