Buying the Civ V gold upgrade. I don't even like Civ V, but this is just too cheap to let go :P

Kind of the same here. I've heard the expansions help a good bit, so I'm hoping this'll let me enjoy Civ V a bit more.

Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale     8.00 USD
The Walking Dead                     12.49 USD
Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition     9.99 USD
Reus                                     7.49 USD
Endless Space + Disharmony      11.89 USD

Still thinking if this is the best time for Brave New World.

Meh. Recettear should be under $5 by now.

The devs that did the Enhanced Edition of Baldur's Gate are currently in a legal battle over the rights and therefore the patch and new content is delayed until further notice. I would personally hold off on the purchase as there is a very slight chance that they lose the rights and further support is pulled.

GODAMMIT!

I bought Brave new world because preordering it gave me 10% off.

Now it has 33% off.

Wish I knew about the summer getaway sale >.>

Now I feel pissed off. What's the point of giving people a pre-order discount if you IMMEDIATELY fuck them over by giving people who didn't pre-order an EVEN BIGGER discount?

Alright, so I've been flip-flopping over buying Bioshock Infinite for the entirety of it's sale period.

20 minutes left on the clock and I feel stupid for waiting to make a decision now.

Should I buy it? Is the story as good as I hear it is? I don't want to drop 30 bucks on a game I'll play through only once unless it's godlike.

It's not godlike. For me, it was definitely a "one playthrough" experience.

But did you feel like you wasted your money?

I've only played through games like The Walking Dead only once, but I still feel as though it was a good purchase.

I paid full price for it. I don't regret it. That said, it's one of the flashiest Bioshocks, with the most emotive story and best visuals. Mechanically, I found it weaker than the other two. (Basically, all the standout features like the level design and zip lines, were all completely over hyped.)

If $30 is an acceptable ticket price for a 6 to 9 hour movie, then you should have no problems. But if you get bitter about the money you spend on AAA games, with all the AAA issues (good until the end, then you suddenly feel a bit hollow about the experience), you should probably wait.

I imagine it's not going to get much cheaper than 50% off for the rest of the year.

Bioshock Infinite is something I had to value as more than just a game. Bought it at full price, finished it in 12 hours, do not regret it.

If you want cheap games, don't get it.
If you want something thoroughly interesting, you may want it.
If you felt the Walking Dead interactive narrative was worth it, you'll probably be okay with Bioshock Infinite.
Note that it's not just about the story.

Community choice isn't displaying right now.

Five is coming out in September for consoles, and looks pretty sweet. It'll probably be out on PC some time around Spring.

I still haven't managed to be bowled over by the Steam Sale. I know it's early on in the sale but I either own the games on sale or have no interest in them at any cost! :\
