It was confirmed from a few dev leaks that it starts tomorrow (the 20th). Also the Midweek Madness sale ends early (at 10am) which it only does for sales, iirc.

Other than that, not sure. I'm personally hoping for some sort of achievement chasing (more than just badges). I've gotten a few good things out of it in the past, if only people wouldn't abuse the heck out of the sytem ruining it for the rest of us. :-\

Honestly, I can't even think of any games that I'm looking to buy. Maybe XCOM if it goes for 75% (I don't have time to play it at the moment, but I hope to eventually!), but the chances of that happening aren't too high.

Steam Sale has indeed begun. First six daily deals include Scribblenaughts, Hitman and Borderlands. Pity I just spent all of my money on the previous Midweek Madness sale. :P

Should we start a new topic for the sale?  We have for previous ones.

I'd do it myself, but I'm not going to be around to update the First Post.  Anyone want to step up?

Limbo is on sale for 2.49.

That is close to best 2.49 you can spend.

Just got it. Around 8 hours left for the -75% sale.

Haven't completed it yet, but this game... it is extremely well made. Great puzzle/platformer, amazing atmosphere.

Edit:
Wait - sorry, my bad. :(  There's a new thread!

I found Limbo pretty damn good. I never got around to finishing it though. The game starts with an extremely strong atmosphere which is quite frankly spooky as sin, however about half-way into the game it devolves into a pretty standard "puzzle platformer" affair which got a bit tedious for me. They really had to bring back the insects. :(

It was in the Humble Bundle a while back so there's a faint chance it might pop up in another one if you really want to wait. Personally I think $2.49 is a fine price for the game.

EDIT: Saw this was for the old thread. Bummer.

First glance, Anno looks like Tropico style game, that sound right?

edit:

so, uh, nevermind, not getting it in any case.

Less worker building finickyness, more trading. Lots more islands. Otherwise thats close.

Oh and it sucks and Tropico doesn't, there's that difference. :)

To be a bit more specific: Where Tropico is more DF-simulation-like, Anno just has "buildings with ranges", and islands, and abstracts a lot away, in favour of "pretty pictures" (where Tropico wins again). The only thing it offers is a limited form of sea-faring "combat", which is mostly just boats doing pewpew.

To be more clear: Tropico is about people. Anno is about buildings.

I've played a good bit of Anno 1404 (Known in the USA as Dawn of Discovery) and enjoyed it greatly. While Tropico is about building your people a place to live and trying to stay in office, Anno is much more of a game about building your empire and getting complex production chains setup.

EDIT: Obviously this is based on my experience with 1404, but I imagine 2070 is fairly similar.
