Rock of Ages is 75% off, and it's entirely worth double the normal price.

It's got a free weekend, too, so might as well try it out.

Seconded. It's not a long game but it's SO FUN and SO SILLY.

Free MULTIPLAYER weekend. Aside from the tutorial, there's no single-player involved.

And thirded.
L4D2 and Killing Floor both 75% off, and both worth it. Probably not that many people playing them anymore, but a sale like this always makes for a huge influx of new players, so you should be good, there.

Literally minutes after I bought The Walking Dead off Amazon it was on sale on Steam. Luckily they're both 40% off so I'm not upset at all. Awesome game as well.

Halloween sale!
http://store.steampowered.com/sale/halloweensale_2012
Games I can recommend:
STALKER
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (don't personally enjoy it but it's a good game)
Bioshock
Nation Red (worth the $2, at least)
Fallout 3
Penumbra

Penumbra and STALKER are the really good ones.

Has anyone here played Home? I'm kind of interested but not enough to just buy it.

Throw SPAZ into the list of recommended games. Great game, especially for the price.

For STALKER, I've heard Clear Skies was to be avoided, but I haven't tried it. The others are good stuff.

I find that wrong Clear Skies should not be avoided. Clear Skies was basically a environment beautiful version of STALKER where as Call of Pripyat was a rpg immense

I only have 5 bucks on steam, and I wont be able to pay for games for at least a week if I don't want to starve to death.
Is Stalker:Clear Sky worth it. I hear the the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series is excellent. Is it a good time to get it, or should I just wait till Cop or SoC go on sale.
If not I'll just snag Breath of Death and Cthulhu Saves the World.

Yeah, the December sells are always ridiculously enticing.  The original Stalker was buggy and confusing for me so personally I can't recommend the series.  HOWEVER, my brother loves the whole thing and didn't have any problems.  He got incredible value for money.  It's probably a matter of personal preference.
I did enjoy him telling me about things that happened, I just had difficulty with the mechanics.  Same way he likes DF stories but cannot play it.

Why does everybody say that SPAZ is so great? What am I missing?

Turning down the planet amount and upping the data rates probably. My first mistake with SPAZ was generating a massive world and all it did was make the game hopelessly grindy. Turning down the planet amount makes the game go much quicker.
