Starcraft 2's expansions (Zerg campaign and Protoss campaign, basically) are half off, $20.
The Terran campaign Wings of Liberty is still F2P.
(This is through Battle.net of course, not Steam)

I bought wings of liberty back when I didn't know any better, so I got Swarm for free but never played it. How bad are the last two, if I may ask?

Not bad, but wings of liberty is definitely the best one. Heart of the Swarm added some sorta interesting evolutionary mechanics which allowed you to specialise units more to your liking - this kept the units staying fresh and Kerrigan gets to be a your uber unit which can be kinda fun.

The Protoss campaign is the worst one of the lot - it's very dull. The protoss work as a sort of...interlude, but they can't carry themselves through a whole campaign as their whole thing is being dour. Still, the missions themselves are ok and there's a lot of fun to be had with space ship battles.

All that being said, it's all kinda just...more starcraft. If you enjoy starcraft a lot you'll enjoy more missions and new units, but if you're not a big fan then it's nothing super amazing.

With enough work and polish, it could have been a forgettable flash game on Kongregate.

From simply a story perspective of Heart of the Swarm, just the intro and first couple planets, I'm enjoying it a lot.  It kinda redeemed a minor annoyance I had with Wings of Liberty.  Basically I thought they misused Kerrigan as a character, but now that she has proper screentime I'm very satisfied.

Also I kinda REALLY liked the intro cinematic.  It starts out a little "slow" with fighters taking on a leviathan, but there's this awesome part where a tank is barrelling down the road while firing backward at an ultralisk.  And when the tanks go siege mode... *shivers*.

I'm finding it really annoying how you apparently can't buy bundles for other people if you already own said bundles. I want to gift a friend the Shadowrun Complete Collection, but the option to buy at all is grey out because apparently they calculate the price based on what you already own. I've found something about getting around it buy getting the link from incognito mode or whatever that I plan to try later, but it's kind of frustrating that they make this so difficult.
Yeah, looking into this now and trying it out, it seems you just can't buy price calculated bundles for other people. Fuck. I just wanted to do something nice for my friend's birthday, but for some reason, Steam hates friendship I guess.

I guess I'll try just buying the bundle items separately. It seems like there's a problem caused by the Shadowrun Returns Deluxe DLC, but that's just a soundtrack and artbook, so I guess it's not a huge loss.

Point in favor for the protoss campaign, though. It's the one with Brother Untz, the escaped space DJ with giant headphones and techno magic spinning hubcap hands.

Okay, looking into it, it seems there's a Humble Bundle for Shadowrun Complete Collection at the moment, which is actually cheaper than buying the bundle on Steam would be, and lets me give the entire bundle.

The only thing I'm concerned about is whether or not Hong Kong is the Extended Edition. I would guess so, since that's the only version listed on Steam, though there could be an unlisted version like there is for original Skyrim. Though I'm guessing it's mostly likely just the Steam bundle, except it's on Humble.

Pretty sure there is only an enhanced edition of Hong Kong, as all base versions were updated for free.

I'm 99.9% sure it's extended edition because:

1. I don't think any other version exists anymore, extended edition was a free upgrade for everyone

2. like you mentioned, it's probably just a key for the exact same bundle steam is selling, and that bundle is extended edition for sure

3. There's no option for sale to upgrade to extended edition, so why would they sell the old one in the bundle? Almost nobody would buy the whole game all over again just to upgrade so it would upset people for no gain.

Starcraft. I wanted to check the prices, is this the store https://eu.shop.battle.net/en-gb ?

Doesn't show anything for me.

Even if you click Games at the top, and then Starcraft (or Starcraft II, if that's what you want) from the drop-down list?

What browser are you using? When using Pale Moon (based on Firefox), or Firefox I only get the blue background, but the page works fine with Chrome.

Edit: Got the games now. Last Blizzard game I bought was Starcraft a while back. :P Guess I got to recap the story.

Conveniently, they have excellent recap videos for each campaign which arguably revise sc1 a bit, or I'm misremembering, but either way they're good recaps.

Thinking about Where water tastes like wine, but think it could go lower.
Yoooo, thanks for reminding me of this game!
I spotted it a while ago when the publisher was featured on Steam, added it to my wishlist (I think it might not have been released at that point?) and then forgot about it.
I personally have no real objections to forking out $15~ for something that looks so heckin' lovely.

Funnily enough, it seems like most of Good Shepherd's titles are discounted again for the summer sale anyway. Tempted to pick up at least a couple.

Edit: ...oh gods, why is there suddenly so much stuff in my cart? And why does Steam keep hitting me with more and more delightfully discounted games?!

Steam Sale Survival.

For some reason I want that to be an actual game. I know there's L4D2 mods for that, but that's different.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but I'm not really finding anything that interests me at all. Maybe a few things, but I don't really feel like it just now.
