Nope, Star Ruler 2 is also now 75% off on Steam. Just came up as part of the weeklong deals.

Worth getting? What about the DLC?

Star ruler 1 was kind of fun in a crazy, "make a ship literally bigger than the galaxy and blow everything up" sort of way though I felt like it kind of suffered as an actual game (especially vs the AI) and had some glaring problem that annoyed the crap out of me - something like the building that exported metal to your bank was literally the only thing in the game that didn't scale exponentially so was always a massive chokepoint forever. Because of that, the only way to build large ships was to abuse the fact you could salvage (significantly) more metal than it took to build something and just build junk ships and salvage them over and over (or something like that, I don't remember the details).

I've heard SR2 was significantly different and more like a "standard" 4x, though which sounds sort of like a good thing and sort of like a bad thing.

Eh, sorta. The resource dependency system is a lot crunchier than internal trade usually is.

Neat!  Slowbeef and his wife did a funny stream of it.  I'm definitely grabbing it for a dollar.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfJ2-qqYeTE
Seems kinda like Papa's Pizzeria except a lot better.  (Ugh, that series really went downhill)

HA! I'm just watching the first bit of that stream. Why on earth would anyone play that with a controller? Why is it even possible? Hilarious. And it's making me want to play the game again, even though I beat it ages ago and my backlog is atrocious...

Anyone played Hostile Space Excavation?

http://store.steampowered.com/app/414720/

It is on sale for a few bucks, looks like a decent trade-mine-fight sort of thing.  And sounds like the developer is still adding more content?

thats right, i heard it was on kongregate.

I guess the steam version avoids whatever game size (25mb?) limits are inherent to the kongregate / flash platform?

Good place to look for a demo, anyway.  Have you tried it out?

Yeah I'm playing with the keyboard, and maaan.  Using a controller looks so much harder.  With a keyboard, the ingredients are usually tied to intuitive letters - I for Ice and such.

Also I'm really enjoying it, good deal for $1.  Thanks!

Cook Serve Delicious is a lot of fun. My only problem with ingredients is when they switch the keyboard shortcuts them up on you between food items.

Yeah, I ran into that going from soup to nachos.  I changed rice to I and beans to E (and olives to V?) because that's how they are in soup. That's the only time I've had to remap the keys, though.  P for "place in bowl" is a bit inconvenient but easy to remember.

Also... nachos with rice and olives?  Sounds a bit odd but yummy.

Any opinions on Interstellaria? It's on sale for 60% off on steam at the moment. It looked interesting but the reviews seem pretty mixed.

At release? Not worth it. Now? I don't know. I don't think much has changed since release.
