I'm actually not too fussed at what appears on the sale this time. I have a huge backlog of games to play through, so I'm more likely to look for any DLC's I'm missing and possibly a few older games that I passed on at their original prices.

Also estimate 35 minutes until Steam goes offline due to overload again.

Heh, that actually fits the Zero Wing script pretty well. 

I'm right there with ya in the "oh gods, my backlog!" boat.  I honestly have no idea if I'll buy anything for myself... the only thing I know I want (Endless Legend) won't run on my box.  *shrugs*

The slower cycle is an improvement, I think.  Less pressure to stay up late or get up early to see the 3rd shift.

Yes, although the change-over times for previous ones actually fitted in quite nicely here in England. Once in the morning when you get up, once before supper and once after.

Crusader Kings II Collection at 50% discount, but on a 75% discount for the same thing over at Humble Bundle. The Humble price is as low as it has ever gone on Steam. If anyone was still looking to buy that may be more attractive than crossing fingers for a deeper Steam discount. Collection is everything other than the two latest DLCs IIRC.

EDIT; was looking at the wrong collection... Is actually the same as it's lowest price on Steam.

They just had CK2 @ -75% on the midweek leading up to the winter sale... they'll probably still do it again during the sale, though.

Meanwhile on Humble, Company of Heroes 2 (yesterday's deals, -75%) and Western Front Armies (today, -66%ish) separately for US$16.79 total... not bad.

Seems UFO: Extraterrestrials never goes on sale. Just something I've noticed while staring at my wishlist during these events. Anyways, I'm with the "backlog, maybe DLC" crowd. So AoW3's Golden Realms DLC when it's cheap and anything else that looks cheap & interesting. I'm tempted to buy Metal Gear Rising but I haven't even finished MGS3 yet. I've got no rush to catch up with that franchise.

In a halfassed attempt to make a contributing post I must mention that Space Rangers 2 is 75% off at the moment.
