Livestream ho!So, I have been bitten by the Musical bug again, and am in the mood for some Andrew Lloyd Weber. Namely, Jesus Christ Superstar. For those unfamiliar, it's the story of Jesus' of Nazareth's life and times, but written in the 70s and told as a Rock Opera.
See? See the 70s? see the Rock Operaness?
Also of note is that Jesus is not the main character; it follows Judas, and deals more with the people Jesus affected; those who followed him as a teacher, those who believed he was God Jr., those who thought of him as a carpenter with delusions of grandeur, and even those who feared all the noise he was making was going to cause Rome to drop the genocide hammer on the Jews. It's got some incredible music and visuals, and is really quite well done.
It's a little last minute (not that that's anything new here :Y) but I'd be up for watching it Tonight or Tomorrow, depending on whether folks are interested. There are actually 2 versions of it I'd like to show; one being the 1973 Theatrical Version, set in a surreal fusion of history and the 70s, and the modernized and more cinematic version from 2000. I'd actually like to see both, but that might be a bit much for a stream.
Either way,
I'll be on the Livestream for a bit tonight to gauge interest, and would be happy to put it on, if anyone would care to join me!
