No, I wouldn't care if you did it ten months ago. (Unless you happened to discover that streaming Steamlands was a really bad idea.)

I already did Steamlands, and though it was a fun game with a neat concept, I got the feeling that I'd seen about everything it had to offer. From my perspective, I got the experience already, and I'm not too interested in returning to it. Steamlands can be played here if people would like to see more of it, though.

In semi-related news, I secretly dread starting the new Shining LP. It's not because I don't want to play it... much like Amnesia, I really enjoy the game and very much want to share it with you. I just want to do it right, and that represents a long-term commitment to playing the game, doing some pre-game research, and most importantly finding a way to improve the stream quality for 3D games... so it's kinda daunting, and will require some self-hyping.

For now, I'm trying to look for other good retro jRPGs that were never brought west, or which bombed outside Japan despite being good games, and were lost to time. One I recently (re)discovered is the "Romancing SaGa" series for the SNES. (Obligatory Hype Link) It's basically the black sheep of Squaresoft RPGs; it was an early experiment with their established FF RPG style, with a more mature storyline, and a steeper level of tactical difficulty. It's also one of the first (only?) non-linear jRPGs I've seen, featuring permanent character death as a core mechanic, a great deal of customizable characters, skill-based character advancement (instead of EXP/Level-based), a branching storyline that is influenced by most of your in-game choices, challenging tactical combat, and some great music and graphics.

Don't know if I'll do a whole LP of it, but I'd like to at least demo it for folks some time.

I know, right? It's pretty fun to play too... kinda like Elder Scrolls meets Final Fantasy.

Anyway, I uploaded the Steamlands Demo video here, if anyone missed it. I'm only going to keep it up on the Dropbox for a limited time, due to filespace restrictions, but you can always save it to watch later.
(Note: It may take 10 minutes or so to synch with Dropbox.)
(EDIT: Okay, maybe 30 minutes.)

Speaking of which, would anyone make use of downloadable Livestream episodes like this? I could make mobile versions of the video available for Download if anyone thinks that'd be useful.

Mobile quality is the lowest quality/smallest file size of the livestream quality choices.

I'd love to see Romancing SaGa, it's one I've always felt like I should have played but couldn't get in to.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Ok, here's a game for you to play, it just got posted about on the TIGsource blog (don't know if you read it). It's called Ao Oni:
http://mygames888.info/aooni.html

It's a free RPGMaker XP horror game about a mansion, and a monster. I recommend you play it blind when you stream.

I'm busy home celebrating my Irishness by eating vast quantities of potatoes (no joke).

People up for some kind of entirely non-Irish livestream? I could demo some Romancing SaGa 3, if folks might be interested. There's a slight chance AngryPixels will be dropping by later, but that's still up in the air as I understand it. If folks have a solid proposal for a Minecraft Group-Play theme that we could organize soon-ish, those might work too.

By soonish, Soli probably means before the stream for the minecrafty thing. Do you have a nicely jungleish place, Proj?

You could stream AVWW too, since we played that before, but didn't stream it.

Last time I checked, the spawn of the current map is a jungle biome, so that is all good Aklyon.

Also, if you set up the server right now, we could set up a small story going is people want it.
