You're assuming the lights won't get shot out by some careless rocket launcher fire. Or blown up with grenades. Or just destroyed specifically to make Endermen happen. :P

I can just imagine seeing someone prepping one of those to fire and racing out in front of it to intercept the bomb so it didn't take out our precious space station. Much better to die than lose a chunk that big out of something you've built...
