Scriver, you couldn't run it? If you can be unofficial Beta Tester, what's your Browser, Java Version, and Operating System?

Anyway, last night was Night 0 for those keeping score at home. Time for Day 1!

Naali and Me are streaming for a bit for now, but my Grandpa's got a 85th birthday, and I'm off to celebrate with him in an hour or so. BUT MARK MY WORD, I SHALL RETURN THIS AFTERNOON. AND THERE SHALL BE FOR-REALS PROGRESS!

Windows 8, FireFox (I'll check version later, if it matters, but I'm pretty sure it's the latest as I downloaded it maybe three weeks ago), and I'll have to return later with Java version but since I did download Java today so I could try the demo I'm fairly certain it should be the latest version of that too.

I don't remember what the error was any longer, but I'll be sure to try it out when next at the computer and checking all versions and stuff.

Anyway, that should be the last of the interruptions. From here on out, at least for the next 24 to 48 hours, we'll be streaming and coding and otherwise game-making. So far we're trying to reduce the JRPG/Action RPG to its essence, while still staying a game. At least, that's the high-minded goal. Still not sure if we can fit all we want to into the 48 hours, but we'll try.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Tomorrow we’ll make the  fight a proper fight, add some graphical polish, and if we can get to it, the actual Minimalist Role-Playing part. In lieu of other exciting screenshots, here’s a few inspirations for the art style I’d like to emulate if I can get to it:



Also, shout-out to stream-watchers for their company, and Lysabild for his help looking up Mammen-Style art, and for sharing links to traditional Nordic Music!

Today is music and Fine Art day. Also the code monkeys are pairing off, Hitch to finish up the platformer physics and combat, and Naali to tackle the code for the Minimalist RPG part. 32 more hours to go! Woot?
