It seems Ioric Kittencuddler got permanently banned. I just want some information on what happened, so don't say anything unless you know something.

From what I've seen he found it impossible to discuss games without getting overly hostile, so that was probably it.

e: that said, I don't see any posts by Toady or Threetoe about it. If he's gone, he's gone, if he's not, he's not. Don't worry about it.

Yeah, the only thing I can find on the subject is Toady telling Ioric to calm down during a heated Oblivion thread.

Yeah, he was banned. It was because he pretty much trolled on some threads, and then him posting the limecat image macro pushed ThreeToe over the edge. According to Ioric on BS12, that is.

From what I got from the thread, he was first banned for necroing a Mount and Blade thread (To say that one of the modders died of cancer), but it was increased to perma when he said that he wished it was Glenn Beck in an appeal. The meloncat was Apples, I think.

Wait, banned and then it was increased to a perma? So, did he bandodge to make the Glenn Beck statement or what? Because that sounds like a bannable offense.

I'm not too sure, it's just what I got from the thread. Might have been a warning at first, then a perma for that comment.

You know, one of us could just PM Toady and ask for the full story. I never particularly knew this guy well, so I'm not very concerned about him being banned, but Red Alert Fan obviously wants to know.

The mention of the ban on BS12, for those who don't know about/go to/frequent it:

I've just been perma banned from the official Bay12 Forums for "Mod sassing" because I tried to argue my case that posting in the Mount and Blade thread that a prominent M&B modder recently died of cancer wasn't "Necroing a thread just to say something stupid".  Apparently saying that you wish it had been Glen Beck instead completely negates any value the post might have had to anyone who knew Fawzia dokhtar-i-Sanjar on the TaleWorlds forums or was a fan of Prophecy of Pendor.

I always feel really weird discussing bans. Like I'm chasing after something that wasn't my business to begin with.

Oh, I just got it. I am the internet equivalent of an ambulance chaser, except I like to gawk instead of using it to denounce the forums and everything we hold dear and this is the end of everything people I warned you

No, an ambulance chaser would find people who were banned and try to get them to sue Toady.

Anyway, that is a really Ioric thing to do.  I'm not sure how he thought saying he wished Glenn Beck had died instead would have made the mods reconsider.

Well, we're hearing the story from Ioric's perspective, but I guess some people found it disrespectful that he mixed politics with the news of someone's death.

And lets not forget his posts in that mud topic where he said not penalizing female characters in some statistics was too politically correct. He was really just a shitty poster.

Honestly I'd be surprised if anyone missed him.

Not sure what to say here. Ioric was usually a pretty cool guy to me, but if it's true what they say about making jokes over someone's untimely death, well...

Anyway, Threetoe. He was the wielder of the ban-hammer, if it matters.

EDIT: apparently he was also a chauvinist. Meh.
