Riiiiiight

1: We may be a band of misfits, but we are a band if misfits without healers. I am not too worried about myself, I think I will be quite a bit better at running away then most of you, but if that happens then I will not get paid for whatever job we are on and you guys will be dead.

2: Until I see otherwise, I am going to assume you are a lame old man.

I'm a ranger.  When the shit hits the fan, Geezer gets one-shotted, and things go bad, I'll disappear into the woods and wait for a better party to get rolled up.  Maybe one with players who understand the game enough they don't need the DM to make their characters.

Can I come with you?

If I live.

Ah, but he was once a master and will be again. He's just a little rusty.

You do know he is going to die in our first fight right?

Can I roll for a monk here?
For justification, the northern setting can be offset by having him be a student of Systema style boxing, rather than eastern martial arts.
any objections?

Only if nobody stabilizes him when he gets knocked into negative HP. You don't go below -9 in one hit very often at first lev-OH WAIT NO HEALER

I object to characters that aren't dedicated healers.

Quite seriously though, any objections to a monk character?

I have, for a unknown reason, heal as a class skill. I could put some points into it. But to be honest, it is not like it is that hard to make the check without any skill. On the other hand, who here is willing to bring geezer back if we get the chance to leave him for dead?

I don't think even a monk can make this party anymore hilariously inept. (But a healer would be awesome.)

Go for it.

It looks like there might be a bard and a druid, but nether is really a dedicated healer type.

Are we using any extra languages in this campaign?

EDIT: screw it, common is more than enough.

D&D generally uses at least Common and Draconic. I can't imagine why there wouldn't be any other languages.

Hey, I'm skeptical too, but there's no need to be rude. I'm reasonably sure that this character can make it through just fine. If he can't, at least I tried. As they say, "Blood for the random number god, skulls for his skull throne!"

I believe that it is '32465468.397659 for the random number god, skulls for his skull throne.'

Also I was semi serous about that, the quicker geezer dies the quicker we can get you playing another character that may be effective.

I used to be your DM, I know you can make one.

I will help geezer if the fight is over.  That's my commitment.  If he lasts the fight, I'll help him.  If he doesn't, oh well.
