How many people live in this hamlet? I was thinking 20-40ish based on how they only seem to have a priest for a leader and the fact that they can only afford to hire us and not some competent people. But some solid numbers would help.

46 people.

39 humans, 1 elf, 2 halflings, a half orc, and 2 gnomes, and one half elf

Sweet.

I wonder if they would go for becoming my almost serfs? I have enough money to almost pay all of them two years wages. They sell all their goods to me and I should be able to sell them for twice as much as I paid and still let the merchant have a ridiculous profit.

Some one is screwing them over and it might as well be me.

Of course for this plan to work I would have to become a NPC... I wonder if it is worth making a new guy for me to play as...

What do you guys think? Retire Ghenor as a minor country lord?

You could probably become a rich farmer who lives in a fancy manor, but to be a lord, you'd have to be able to bring feudal amounts of buttkicking to the table whenever orcs or dragons invade. Also, I call dibs on assassinating you later on in the name of Listor.

Why retire? I have seen more than enough succesful adventurers aquiring a buisness of some sort, and then sticking with it, game switching to a geopolitical simulator with a side of dungeon delving, instead of pure dungeon delving.
This isnt that bad of idea. We could even rise to the power one day, that way!

The first thing we need to do is get to level 3 so we can survive the steady barrage of exclusively EL3 fights.

I could go for having some political clout behind us. We could found our very own outer heaven. that way I can kill people without violating my lawful alignment.

Breaking mores would still be chaotic. And I don't think you want to live where murder is a norm.

Except you're dead!

Ah.... The fond memories.

Why retire?

The serious answer is I am not sure if my currant character is good for the group.

Edit: Another in character serious answer is that, as was mentioned, we fought some pretty rough stuff. Level three is pretty heroic for most people, my guy really did not sign up for that shit. If he slowly dipped into it like most heroes it would be okay, but he is really quite shaken by his brushes with death.

The non serious answer is that now that Skund is dead I have no motivation for that characters actions anymore.
