Backstory:
Maxus Listel was, once upon a time, son of a poison maker in the employ of a lord. He learned that trade from his father, as his father did from his father's father and his father's father before that. He intended to take on his father's trade in due time, and pass on the trade to his eldest child, as was family tradition. Such did not come to pass, for his adopted brother was envious of his position, and sought to kill him using his father's trade. Fearing for his life, young Maxus fled from his family and became a rogue and a scoundrel, seeking both the riches he thought he would have as a child, and revenge against his wicked stepbrother.
Maxus remains a faithful worshiper of Listor, for he beleives in his heart of hearts that Listor will some day guide him to greatness under a mighty ruler, and give him justice against those that have wronged him. He is loathe to violate the laws of any realm lead by a ruler of the true faith, but cares not for the laws of the infidels.
Maxus also seeks to restore himself to good health, and further proof himself against sickness and disease. He is not picky how to make himself immune, and is currently considering, very strongly, a necromantic solution to what ails him.
