If you see one of these glacier boxes, run while you are still alive

I was adventuring on a frozen ocean when I discovered a strange icy box, I walked around it and soon realised that it was growing. Eventually, I was trapped in a tight square of ice that soon became tighter and eventually killed me.

I can see on your profile that you are 4011 years below the legal drinking limit. (Here in America, anyways.) That must mean you have a really low tolerance to alcohol. You've had so much, that it's wearing off on me and I can see a picture there. It's the only explanation.

I'm currently making my trek over the ocean (just discovered I embarked on a tiny, tiny, tiny little island and can't find any caves), and these pop up quite regularly. Also... I don't think the game likes me walking over the ocean. Damn it's gotten slow.

Edit: Nevermind. "Flying" "You have been encased in ice" XD It was a bid for freedom that didn't end well.

I find those things all the time in glaciers. I always assumed it was a bug of some kind. They are very VERY easy to get lost in, though I've never died in one.

I have had one chase me though. No matter how far I walked I ran into it again and again.

I had to expiriment, I was walking around a galcier when my FPS got down to 2 and a huge wall of ice appeared behind me with a small crack in it. It wouldn't let me enter the crack because it was a huge drop so I slep just outside of it. I woke up 20 z's in the air and then the next turn had me incased in ice.
