Orb gazed around the hanger. It was a twilight in here, with the only light coming from the dim bulbs hanging several dozen yards up. Shadows swirled around him, each one in its own train of thought.
His crew wasn't far off. They were at the various tourist shops, shopping for whatever might keep their attention for the next couple weeks. He gazed toward the shops, with a tinge of longing.
Orb's attention wandered back to the hanger. His new home was somewhere, in one of the at least a dozen ships floating in the bay. Someone was calling his name. Ah yes, Codecimal. Our Science Officer.
Orb wandered toward the source of the calls, and there was Codecimal, standing just outside the airlock, already suited up. The rest of the crew was with him, holding various reflective objects in their hands. When they waved him over, they all suited up and Orb took roll call.
When everyone arrived inside the confines of our new home, we dispersed.
Frank took it upon himself to spray in white the name we had chosen for our ship on the outer hull. The Pearl.
Ahra immediately went to system diagnostics and found we had a Light Scout design with a rail gun attachment.
Orb himself went to the armory and looked over what the previous owners had left them.
When everyone settled, we departed.
Heading towards the nearest station off to the SE, Codecimal picked up a spectral class F(white sun) star. Locking onto the planet in the smallest orbit, he picked up these results.
Giving the OK, we landed. Ahra miscalculated our entry angle and we hit the ground hard. While exploring the planet, we found an outcropping of monocrystals, giving off an eerie green amongst the dunes. It was quickly brought back to the ship.
When we finished exploring, Ahra remote controlled The Pearl to us, but crashed it again. When we left the planet, Ahra crashed into our communication satellite. The crew is questioning Ahra's abilities as a pilot.
