It is French. The game, Dofus, was developed by a bunch of cheese-eating surrender monkeys. This game is kind of a sequel to it, and there's also a cartoon, which is apparently quite good. According to 4chan, the main character is a "goddamn sexual tyrannosaurus", this commentary coming from /co/ and echoed on /tg/.

I believe I had a high level tofu bird summoner guy in Dofus.  He could make the sheep guys and the boar guys and such.

I had an hilarious intelligence based Iop (the dumb warrior class). Even though their intelligence growth is horrible, their fire spells (fire scales with int) were ridiculously good, specialy the infamous strenghtstorm, a massively powerful attack which costs only 3 action points. I had 9 action points so I could do 3 of them for over 1k damage per turn, making me the best pvp character in my level range short of some goddamn xelors, xelors are annoying as fuck.

Are they talking about Groovy or Yugo here? They are like 19 and 11 respectively, so I kinda understand the former, and really don't want to think about the latter.

That trailer was pretty ridiculous. Adding epic music to something doesn't automatically make it good looking. Especially when it in no way fits with what's being shown.

The company that made both dofus and are currently making wakfu are pretty much pro-tier at hyping up their stuff. They have some pretty talented animation and art crew.

Too bad that after two years they're still struggling with the fact wakfu never really became anything more then a dofus clone. Its still a pretty unique game MMO wise, you won't find anything like this around that isn't made by Ankama (the company). I'm still surprised square enix can make another boring MMO and not explore the possibility of doing something like this but on the final fantasy tactics universe.

Wakfu went open beta a few days ago. Its definitely grindy like most other MMORPGs, but at least some of the stuff you can do, like planting and repopulating areas with animals, etc, seem different enough to keep me entertained for a few days.

Anyone else gona play? We might as well form a small guild if yes. Or at least go hunt together and stuff.

Remember to create an account on the french version, because for bullshit reasons (Some agreement between SE and Ankama I believe) It's region locked.
I've got a Cra on Tiva at the moment, joined up as soon as it went open beta.
I'm not exactly fond of the combat system (Namely the way that spells don't get much xp, so at least I feel pretty powerless in terms of doing damage against enemies) but the ecosystem is a great feature.
I'm Lothonus in Bonta, if anyone else is nearby.

There should be some Zaap portals around, and soul's crossing is a part of incarnam.
Anyway I recommend http://forum.wakfu.com/na/119-general-discussions/3061-basics-people-new-wakfu new players, personally.
