22nd Limestone 131
Well, looks like that cave blob I totally owned is back to haunt us. Oops!

4th Moonstone

Two children have been born in the span of the past three days, congratulations to both Rigoth Tosidnish and Udib Nelasfeb! This brings the fortress' population up to 89; eleven of those being children too young to do any useful labor.

17th Moonstone

The demands of the Baron and his consort are growing by the week; he came to me in absolute tears today, complaining that a humble potter had sleeping quarters grander then his own. I've assigned the engravers to continue work on his bedroom as they have time, and have 'gifted' a pair of golden statues to flank the doorway.

8th Opal

The liaison finally decided to leave today; it was quite tiresome having to make nice with this one... She was even given a hammerdwarf escort off of our lands, to make sure nothing untoward occurred before returning to the mountainhomes.

20th Opal

One of our members is acting strangely lately; stranger then normal, I mean. Catten Moruldodok, an engraver by trade, has holed themselves up in an unused crafting workshop.

26th Opal

The construction appears complete! Zolakmothdast Usirsiknug Gim, 'Blizzardonslaughts the Glacial-Dwelling of Twisting' an earring of granite graces our fortress. Valued at 14,400 DB, the materials may be modest, but it is a well-wrought piece.

27th Obsidian

It seems our delving has attracted some... unwelcome attention from the depths below. Oggez, of the square shell and poisonous sting has come! Luckily, we are both walled away, and this shortly shall be the worry of some other dwarf.

1st Granite

By my word and my seal, thus closes another chapter in the works of Silverfires. May those who come after serve as well.

I have returned from my travels. metime00's listed before me, and can handle the next game year if up to it, leaving me to finish up a bit of work over here. Let me know when my turn's come, so I can attempt to make some sense of this fortress!

How many gold blocks do we have? I want to suggest the construction of something.

Also, Lav, you have been put on the list

We have 97 gold bars.

Journal of Unib metime00 Datanasob

(Every journal entry from year 125 to year 131 details this dwarf under the name of Unib Datanasob as a farmer in Silverfires.
Extreme detail of the farm life..)

1st Granite, 131: I was walking to the farm to plant my seeds when I saw our leader Magentawolf looking for some dwarf named "metime00".
Apparently nobody had seen him recently. They didn't know that I was, in fact, the dwarf himself. Magentawolf has decreed me the new leader of Silverfires!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

2nd Granite: I have taken the overseeing offices without much trouble. Soon I will begin the new reign of the fortress.
No longer am I a measly farmer. I am a farming ruler! Tremble! At least until somebody finds out I am not the real metime00

3rd Granite: As my first declaration as overseer, I have ordered that the outside farm plot grows only longland grass, it being my favorite of all foods.

7th Granite: I've never looked around this fortress before. Silverfires is much larger than I had previously thought.
In particular I noticed the grand staircase. It's very much not grand. To remedy this tragedy I have ordered it to be engraved. All of it.

10th Granite: Pandamen?! I have never ever heard of a panda man. Granted I have only two friends, who are both children.
Still, you would think even a child would tell their friend of a pandamen infestation.

I must check over the militia's equipment, these panda people must learn who they're dealing with...

My project will need 57 gold and 114 of any other stone. Can we manage that?

Stone? We have stone.

There's still a good few untapped gold veins around the place, too, so I don't see a problem.

My project is going to be an arch, 8w x 9h x 3l with a 3w x 5h passage. I'll edit this post tomorrow with conceptual drawings.

An arch, huh? Can we add stuff to it, like extra embellishments on top or maybe statues at the base?

Sure thing. All I'm doing is making the plans for the arch itself. You guys can suggest whatever you want and hope the current overseer implements your ideas.

10th Granite 132
The new overseer issued a demand for lists of equipment from the militia leaders. Since I am technically a militia captain in my own right, that means I must report for myself. A bother. I would rather be slaying bears or panda men, even goblins offer some minor challenge. I have scribbled him a note: I have a masterful battle-axe, and a full suit of adamantine plate-and-chain armour, plus leather overclothes.

Say, aussieevil, could you perhaps mark in the first post who has taken a turn and who yet hasn't? Maybe with colours or something like that? It'd make it easier for new folks to see where the queue is at currently.

11th Granite, 131: In my free time as overseer, I've seen many things. One of them is ghosts. Who couldn't have noticed these haunts? I ordered the masons to create stone slabs for these ghosts. I demand that the craftsdwarves engrave these slabs, and they ask who they should be engraved for. The list is large so I tell them to just pick one and stop bothering me.

12th Granite: AbuDhabi is the last militia captain to submit his equipment reports and I have just looked over it.
I wish that I had seen this one first, as the ease of sending one elite into the fray is tremendous.
Now I won't have to file the paperwork for a dozen recruits and this dwarf has no risk of failure.

14th Granite: AbuDhabi returned after slaughtering the pandamen squad. The beasts will take the hint and never return, or they will perish like their friends.

15th Granite: ausieevil and several other dwarves have approached me with ideas for a great arch.
The meeting is being conducted as I write, and soon the metalcrafters and masons will have the order for a monument to Silverfires's success!

16th Granite: In the lull of the arch meetings, I have ordered the prohibition of bismuth bronze exports. Granted, there is only one bar of it in the fortress, but one cannot be too careful. In fact, to ensure that the wonderful metal doesn't disappear, it will be made into a statue and placed in my bedroom.

22nd Granite: The statue is of CinnabarMan raising a masterpiece crown, his favorite object.
It isn't the statue of me I asked for, but I cannot stifle artistic expression, especially in such exquisite material.
