I also don't have any problems with people using plutonium pellets responsibly (they're very useful as heating elements), just so you know.
Yeah, sure. Till someone accidentally drops it in Carbide and everything in 20 miles becomes black and uninhabitable.

That's why Aqizzar took care of him in his post. We admire your dedication to your ideals ZK, and as a token for your effort, I'd like to bury you in a plutonium sarcophagus and seal it under twenty meter of concrete, two hundred feet under the ground, in a seismically inactive zone. just in case your idea came back.

No really, libertarianism is launching the fox among the chickens. Communism is attaching the chickens before you launch the fox, what we want is giving the chicken a big, collectively operated machine-gun.
Hey, Atleast the chickens live in our idea...

Did people learn nothing from the protests in Tunisia and Egypt?

You do not change a modern government to democracy with guns.  An unarmed mob has a thousand times the chance of bringing real control.  It's not just in the middle east.  It's worked in the Warsaw Pact, India, Ireland, South Africa and Georgia and countless other places.

The biggest weapon you'll need is a rock, and that's just in case of arseholes.

Put down the guns guys, there's rocks for everyone.

Yo.  Mainiac.  Think everyone was just getting a little carried away with the references.  I brought it on myself, but really, I think everything is cool here.

although, Maniac, Bahrain and Libya both tried the whole unarmed mob approach too, and look how that worked for them.

You know why Egypt worked out? Because the Army sided with the protestors, and the Army had the guns.

Regardless, it's mostly been a joke. Too many people playing too much LCS ;)

If you count "probably sliding to a new dictatorship" as worked out, then I'd say you characterized the situation quite well.

Exactly. If you don't have the guns, you have to rely on the people who do. And they get to decide what your priorities are (because they have the guns).

And if it works out and becomes a real democracy, it will still only be at the efforts of those with the guns.

Yeah, that worked great in lybia. if our governments don't move their fat asses, they will be slaughtered.
Seriously, the idea that, with small arms, you can do a revolution against a modern state is ridiculous.

That just means that the rebels didn't have enough guns on their side.

Yeah, tanks should be issued instead of those pesky cars. I WANT TO GO TO WORK IN AN ABRAHAM. And then revolutions will be easily done.

Damnit, now I want to be a dictator just to issue that.

Which is why the LCS is allowed guns, of course.

Tanks don't matter for sufficiently large values of gun. If the rebels had more anti-tank rockets, cannons, mines, bombs, etc (and people skilled enough to use them) they wouldn't be in the situation they are in.
