In dwarf fortress, you can be killed instantly by a gigantic one-eyed flying elk that spits poisonous goo and comes from the caverns.

They can be modded in with the addition of 2 brackets. Go to creature_standard.txt, then search for something (I don't know, I never tried it).
Anyway...
In Dwarf Fortress, with 2 key presses, you can make women grow beards.

K... Sorry! I had an interruption while typing the last post. So, I added the other ones but killing elephants with bolts made from elephant bone isn't really anything special. And I just don't like the other one at all.
SirAaron, I added yours as an addition to the 7th. It fits well!

This might be lame, but it really bothers me...
In dwarf fortress you can NOT have ladders. :/
(even though you can build siege engines out of granite and levers operate on the principles of quantum mechanics)

Oh!
In dwarf fortress you can create a calculator powered by magma and pressure plates, with a LMD (liquid magma display)!

I don't remember where the thread is, but I'm sure most of us know it or can find it.

Yeah... I'm mainly going for things that make DF awesome or funny. That would just make it seem less good. But up/down staircases are exactly what you need. I really don't see how a ladder would be different. I added that other thing though.

A ladder would be portable, and could be built in open space without needing to be carved into a wall.

You can build a staircase from stone just about anywhere. Stone's usually lying around everywhere, unused.

Necromancy one of the things you can do with DF.

oh and make a battle axe made of fluffly wambler fluff and add rings and bands of fluffly wambler fluff all over it.
then kill a jackal by cutting it's head off using it.
