Really weird stuff in that adventure mode.
« on: March 08, 2011, 11:45:47 pm »

So I was running around, and I found a civilization with a hairy lizard demon thing queen. Pretty weird, right? No, it gets weirder.
I then proceded to go to the next human civilization which I couldn't choose from the screen thing.
Once I got there, all their buildings were made out of rock crystals, and I was like "Woah, that's not normal!"
Then I took a closer look at their rather strange looking doors. They were made out of "Unknown Material".
So it made me imagine this city of crystal buildings jutting out of the ground, with fleshy doors.
BUT THEN. I noticed there were NO citezens ANYWHERE.
Then there were no people in the outlying bandit camps.
Or in the castle.
Or in the hamlets.
Or in any of the lairs.
THE ENTIRE SOUTH HALF OF THE CONTINENT HAD NO LIFE OTHER THEN TURKEYS AND OTHER WILDLIFE.
What in the heck happened there?
Post your theory things.

Advanced boogeymen. They got past the doors, killed the people. and then nailed their skins to the door while cackling evilly.

This.

Although hairy stuff for leaders is normal. But unknown material is a bug.

I had something like this in the legends for another world once. if you remember the name of the demon, search it up.

Basically the demon, through one means or another,  becomes the ruler of the settlements and rules the faction from that settlement. Being that it doesn't actually care about anyone else, the people there pretty much starve, or it kills them itself, basically everybody, except this demon dies.

More than likely, at some point or another, the settlement was attacked by longstanding enemies, but the demon repels them because it can kick a considerable amount of arse in comparison to the invaders, usually. it will then roam the lands attacking everything and everyone, but still be the ruler of the faction it represents, even though it's the only one there.

Either you will kill it, or it will meet up with something else that will kill it. Or it will just keep killing things.

You get "unknown material" doors and weird building materials in abandoned settlements. Nothing to do with duplicate raws.

I didn't know this. The only time I've ever seen "unknown material" was from raw dupes. Is this new? Because back in .18 I could find abandoned settlements and they would be pretty normal.

It's actually surprisingly old (pre-.31). I think it's intermittent enough for it to only show its face occasionally.
